Unfortunately you'll be the only on this year. Grandma passed last week so this weekend's birthday party is now a funeral saturday.
.... Unless I come up for just the night and +1 off someone's site :anonymous:

Trail choses are limited due to previous fires but I’m down to hit Heartbreak Ridge or White Mountain. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Gold Mountain will reopen by this weekend but I’m not holding my breathe

Clarkes Grade is one of the closed trails. It may be possible to get onto it and other trails in that area due to forest service not closing the gates on the 38 side, but the area is fairly sketchy and the Big Bear gates are for sure closed. If you guys are looking for something more chill you might want a different trail

Sorry to hear that man. Hope you and the family are doing ok

I seen there was a fire right by John Bull. I take it that’s closed? Holcomb should hopefully be fine….

Pretty much right on it, on a Monday. Probably some asshats that were camping there and didn’t put out their campfire properly

Because of it the main part of Holcomb valley, John Bull, Little Bull, and Gold Mountain are all currently closed. FS wanted to send a message after a bunch of idiots went offroading on John Bull during the fire and ran over the firefighters hoses

Bummer. How is that trail through rattlesnake canyon? G won’t be up now until Saturday evening, so I might find a backup trail for a mild/moderate run. Or maybe I will just hang out at camp and enjoy some R&R with some cold Pacificos.

Guess we’ll just be heading out and getting lost then. That never disappoints, finding/trying new trails and future camp spots.

I hear its pretty mellow if you stay off of the offshoots, supposed to be 2wd friendly but I’ve never hit it.

I know there are some mine stuff along the trail on Heartbreak Ridge

White Mountain has some pretty challenging offshoots on it too if you haven’t done it before.

If I think of anything else interesting between now and then I’ll let you know

Unfortunately no. Cat had an emergency operation this past late Friday night early Saturday morning and I have an appointment for this coming Saturday for a follow-up.

Have you tried Lalo? It’s fantastic. But I don’t see any in the case.
