Nothing that special, but I installed a voltmeter USB port and fixed the ground on my dome light for "on" when door opens.

It's nice these days having BS little things to do instead of the major repairs! Knock on wood.

Looks fun. Except you can't get new ones now right?

Also was it more fun to do that or drive down a trail with no coilover? Lol

Looking back on it, it was great fun but wow, it was a lot of effort. That emoji is definitely fitting.

Out of curiosity (because there was a thread on here about this happening to someone else) I looked to see if the coil buckets were still available. The passenger side buckets were clearly out of stock everywhere but it looked like it was still possible to get the driver side one.

Well you were there so you know exactly how challenging it was to get the truck off of Antero. Then of course there was getting it safely home from there. Towing it that1300 miles to home was an adventure all in itself.

Ended up going with lunar rock paint on the truck, I’ll post more after pictures soon. Few more final touches here and there to add and maybe some new headlights/taillights but it’s coming together well. The next goal is complete suspension replacement.

I got it from my dealer $150ish out the door, they originally wanted $200. Ourisman has it online for $130 but high shipping. Super easy to install.

After starting a road trip, my alternator self-destructed mid-weekend. When pulling it today, I noticed this wire was broken/cut. I assume it's kinda important :) How would you splice/reconnect this? Note that I'm in the field and far from my workshop.

There's only like one important wire in there so you already got a 1/3 chance of that being it haha. But you can just strip it with nail trimmers and twist it back together. Solder when you get home or replace that pin, either one.

Do you need a set? I can send a pdf file and you can print to scale and cut/tape together to confirm fitment. There seems to be a varience in buckets.

Few more after pictures of the Lunar Rock paint! The handles and mirrors went satin black. It’s fully assembled except the flares, new front and rear bumpers are the next appearance upgrade.

(Any bumper recommendations are welcome, I’m not trying to weigh the truck down with heavy steel so OEM+, aluminum, or tube is ideal)

    3 weeks ago:

What’s hard to see in this picture are the rust holes in both besides and peeling paint on the roof, doors, fenders, and cab sides.
    IMG_0181.jpg

Did some rust clean up and frame coating while the truck bed was off

    IMG_9978.jpg

Once we got the (mostly) rust free truck bed, the project could finally start .
    IMG_0557.jpg

AFTER: Put the original rear glass back in but replaced the chipped windshield. Somehow it hadn’t been replaced since 1998

    IMG_0839.jpg

    IMG_0837.jpg

    IMG_0853.jpg

    IMG_0843.jpg

Spray in bed liner kit was worth the price! No more rust or holes!
