Oh there will be some mods all right
Speaking of your vehicles, how's the current one treating you?

I don't love it like I did my 2019, but I don't feel the need to hunt for something else the way I did in the Ferd. I guess I'm just kind of resigned to it. Love lots of the features, but it's just not making me love it.

Hopefully I can get some other stuff sorted out, get my camping kit put together, and start making memories with it. Hoping that will sweeten the appeal.

Regardless, I can't afford to swap trucks again and I have to have a full size truck. I'm riding this one out for the foreseeable future.

What makes you not love it? I'm sorry to hear that it's not as good as your 2019 was.

It's just not what I already loved. I'm hoping it will grow on me.

The standout things that make me pine for my old truck:
    1. Color options mostly suck and I had to settle for my 4th choice out of 5 acceptable colors.
    2. It doesn't feel as roomy as the old Tundra.
    3. I hate the power tailgate. Wish it was just a remote unlock, or at most a remote drop.
    4. Not a fan of the intercooler vents on the front. Sequoia front end is 10 times better looking.
    5. Miss a V8.
    6. Infotainment system is hot garbage.
    7. Hate auto stop/start bullshit.
    8. Doesn't look or feel like I'm driving a full size truck... feels more like the Taco than the old Tundra, but still maneuvers like a fat ass truck.
    9. Center console design is gimmicky, cheap, and makes accessing the lower part a PITA.
Things this truck has that I really do like:
    1. 360° cameras - loved them since my Taco.
    2. Sound system is solid for a non-audiophile.
    3. Ventilated seats are delightful. Probably my favorite feature in the truck.
    4. Smart entry has been something I loved since my 2017 WRX.
    5. Perk to settling on the color and not liking the front end a bunch, I don't really care about the rock chips.
    6. Decent fuel economy.
    7. Memory seats are nice, but seldom used.
    8. I like the softex.

It's kind of a wash. It's good and bad things, but nothing major. It's just uninspiring and kinda meh.

Yes, and I hit it 90% of the times I start the truck. It's the 10% of the time I forget that is annoying.

I also hate it on the basis of it being another bullshit "green" ploy that does nothing.

Changed the air filter today. Didn't look bad really but the Purolator looks like it is significantly better quality.

Huh, never realized they're Canadian. Apparently they're also majority owned by Canada Post (equivalent of USPS).

There’s probably a dongle to disable that. There is for most vehicles these days.

Did the air injection pump filter mod today. Idk how prevalent the foam deteriorating and falling in the pump issue is with 4runners, especially the later years, but I figured it is still a good idea.

That is true, the third gen has the plastic coolant crossover pipe that leaks on the back of the engine instead :p

I'm not pulling apart my dash. Never had good luck doing that. Always wind up with loose/rattling parts.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I read somewhere that it's Federally mandated. Supposedly, DOT is looking to remove the mandate and allow dealers to shut it off permanently.

Ordered some Chinese branded windshield wipers and some cheap Philips high beam bulbs. Decided to try cheap windshield wipers because the ones that are currently on it were literally the most expensive ones at Walmart and I was never impressed with them from the start so now we will see how cheap does. Went with the cheap high beam bulbs because between the driving lights in the fog location and the ditch lights I mainly only even need the high beam bulbs for daytime running lights (when you turn on your daytime running lights on the limited 4Runner and perhaps other trims it just sends less voltage to the high beam bulbs)
