I spent time in Portland for the first time in like 20+ years, I always just passed through. What a wild ass layout, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The food, people, everything was great. Seattle is dead, glad to see Portland is thriving

I will say, you couldn't pay me to ride a motorcycle there tho. But I wouldn't on Bothell Everett highway either. Got damn it's gotten terrible lately

 

I'll allow the later point. Rode home today on BEH and reminded me of riding on International Blvd, near Seatac. Absolutely the scariest road I've ridden on. 100% full on defensive riding.

As far as the Seattle's dead comment... most people that say that, never go down there for leisure. Sure, it sucks to drive or work down there, but I still dig hanging in Seattle. I'm actually headed there this weekend. Got an Air BnB in Belltown and hitting the Hawks opener on Sunday. Seattle ain't dead, you've just gotten old and you're bored of it.

I despise PDX, but I can't deny, it's always been a great city for food, drinks, strip clubs, and night life.

I lived here in the late 90s/early 2000s, Seattle was cooooool. Portland always wanted to be that cool. That has been lost. Tech bros and rapid expansion, but the food, music, entertainment didn't keep up. Portland has amazing food, the strip clubs absolutely blow us away like a 22 vs a 50bmg, and we lost our cool.

If Portland had more boats I'd definitely think hard about moving, but they don't. Seattle has more boats per capita than any city besides Sydney Australia, and that's my bread and butter

 

The old part is definitely true. If getting to/from wasn't so damn ridiculous, and we actually got good shit to do. But gone are the days of $2 entry to good local music and drinks are $20+.
