Jack is gonna be doing a crossmember chop since the factory one started to fail this summer, one of the kits is probably mine and another members and I have a crossmember chop and he has the jd pivots, so it doesn't really make sense for us to order skids we'll have to rework when @TacoTuesday603 has the means to make em anyway

No your good, just the extra shipping and tariffs from the skids made it out of my price range and I can make a file for skids and make it for the local peeps around here. Plus the nature of different configurations means that transmission skid will have to be different so instead of hacking up your new skids we can just make em.

For me it’s a combo of shipping and uncertainty with how the mid skid will be fitting. Looks like the mid will be custom for some of us
Of the 4 kits coming to the northeast I’m the only one with the Jd pivot kit.
    Basically what they said

I appreciate the feedback! The skids do work with other skid setups too, not just the JD pivot kit, so I was curious.

I am working on having the whole kit made in the USA which will help with the shipping and all that. I found a place to do it, but the problem now is I have to order 25 sets of the cross member and skid to get it done, everytime they get made. That means id really only be able to sell it as a full kit, including the skid.

@Offthewall just did the Rubicon with the full kit, so I'm stoked that it performed well for him!

Would anybody be interested in a group buy? The 3 open orders I have right now, I would refund the difference and include in the GB.
The one issue would be that the GB can only be for full X-mem + skid kits, and going forward that will be the only option available. However, shipping would be MUCH cheaper, and there would be no tariffs, as the kits would be made in the USA.

    Here's what I'm thinking:

    10 kits is 10% off
    15 kits is 15% off
    20 kits are 20% off
    25+ kits are 25% off

The full kit would cost $903 - GB discount, and there would be flat shipping of $69.

We would need a minimum of 10 full kits to make it happen. I can create a new thread about it, but wanted to get everybody's thoughts here first, as well as see if that's something that would work for you @TacoTuesday603 This is mostly just to help you guys out and help me get this product off the ground, and I don't think I'd ever be able to do a discount like that again, other than maybe the 10% off at black friday or something.

Also, thanks to the suggestion of a couple people, especially @aturk I've modified the skid to have built in Cat theft protection. If you like it, let me know, if you don't also let me know your suggestion.

I think for that I would’ve just went for the whole kit. I don’t think you can do anything for me though, I already have two crossmember only kits on hand.

Should be installing within the next few weeks, my original plans got messed up after my dog decided to start playing with a porcupine

This is a sick kit. Mark me down for one. I think this is necessity for the DCLB. Underbelly protection has been on my mind lately too. Got all the JD goodies but no skids haha.

Consider me in! I dont feel like I need the cat protection wings but it’s not a huge issue. Worst case scenario…:sawzall::sawzall::sawzall:

    Yes to the cat guard.

I would recommend 2 holes to be made.
One for the transmission drain plug and the fill/check plug.
Or even like a marking of some kind so a user can cut it out themselves.

That way in the future someone can easily swap out transmission fluids without dropping the massive skid plate.

There are shops that charge more if they see even a thin skid plate.

    but overall A+++++

I’ll have to talk with the dude that ordered with me and see what he wants to do. I know we had discussed skids but seems fab work might be needed. I’d need to see a pic of the your kit mated to the Jd pivot kit and basically be plug n play. If I have to hack anything it might as well be one I already own.

Your illustration above would be short to meet with the pivot kit or a piece would be needed to reach the ifs rear mounting holes. But cutting the Jd skid would be necessary.

I actually designed it around the JD pivot kit. We trim around an inch or so off the back of the JD skid.

    Here's one we just finished.

It's a good suggestion, and for the engine I would do that, but for the trans, I feel like swapping the oil once every couple years doesn't justify having the holes, plus it's different for manual or auto etc, so I probably wont.

I might be a weirdo but I pull my skids at least every other oil change just to clean them, inspect shit, pressure wash stuff.
