Good morning! Wow, 54 years married... that is something!! Yesterday (here in North County San Diego) got up to 92°, so 4 degrees cooler than the day before... and the trend is about that or a bit less until Monday. Sadly, no rain west of the mountains from the tropical storm that is flooding southern Baja California this week.

 

I did that once, more than three years ago, after I went in for a physical that turned out to be nothing more than a "wellness exam" with a "cognitive analysis test" and I got an unrequested jab on my way out.
After three years, a woman called from Cologuard and we had an enjoyable conversation. I told her about calling UPS and turning around their slogan, "What can Brown do for you?" "Ship my brown to Lacrosse, Wisconsin, please..." After telling her Dr. Brian Ardis' warning to read the American Cancer Society's mission statement, which notes that there will never be a cure for cancer, and his concern that poking around in search of a problem may cause those problems, I haven't heard a word since.
Besides, in thirty years in Alaska, the only time I saw a M.D. was to get rid of an uncomfortable plantar wart on my heel. While Doc was gone for a couple weeks to serve his Army obligation at Tripler Army Hospital, I used Dr. Scholl's kit from our small town drugstore, and it was gone by the time he returned for our next appointment. Mother Nature...

 

Today is our 31 year wedding anniversary. Hard to believe 31 years has gone by. Those years have been good to us and we’ve been happy. I made a bad decision when I married my first wife but I made a great decision the second time around. Looking forward to as many more happy years with Maureen as the good Lord gives us. Going out for a great dinner at our favorite place and then watch a shmaltzy movie.

 

Tripler, had to have my appendix removed there, as it had ruptured, I was 3

88° today (4 less than yesterday) with really tall thunder clouds to the east of I-15, San Diego. Tropical storm over central Baja pumping in the moisture.

I have a couple of years to go and have been thinking about surprising my wife with something special. She deserves whatever I can give her. So far I haven't a clue.

 

7 more days and we have our 56th wedding anniversary. We dont celebrate it on the 11th. We generally celebrate a day or two later.

 

Oh... 9/11...

That's tough. My wife and I moved in together on 9/12 and that's the day my father died years later. We still celebrate the day but I really wish dad had chosen a different day.

Good morning. Going to seal the paver walkway today. Paver resanding will probably be on Sunday.

We had a pretty good rain yesterday right while I was grilling up some chicken leg quarters. We really needed the rain.

Looks like the Fall Severe weather season for my area of Tennessee is in full swing . Today and thru the weekend possibility of strong to severe t storms and now the local forecast is adding possible chance of a spin up tornado
