What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I got a 4" to 3.5" silicone elbow from Amazon, and a 3.5" aluminium intake tube from amazon. I did go for the fancy clamps, but regular hose clamps would work.

Will definitely be doing this, my tube will not stop rattling and creaking against firewall hole. No amount of tape or rubber foam works.

 

Replaced an 8 year old battery today

 

8 years is really impressive! Not saying you’ll run into issues, but I had a Duralast Gold a few years back that started losing its charge after only about 2 years. I went through all the usual checks, alternator, parasitic draw, etc. and it ended up failing a load test at AutoZone. I swapped it for a Duralast Platinum AGM, and it’s been great ever since. Much stronger starts, and it holds voltage for weeks, which is perfect since I don’t drive my truck every day. Just a little FYI.

 

For another data point my OEM one lasted a surprising 10 years and I replaced it with a Duralast Gold 3 years ago, still going strong. I've used them in my old subaru and miata as well since Autozone is convenient for me and put 4-5 years and counting on both without issues too.

 

2.75" lift is on the 5 lug!

• Fatbobs lift, spacer in the front, AAL in the rear

the ram air part covers the radiator cap does it not?

 

Just find yourself a used one that doesn't look like it got dragged out of the titanic, that's definitely not something I'd buy brand new from Toyota. Also, the whole back half of Tacoma frames are absolute noodles as is, so I'd say you really want all the reinforcement you can get for the hitch, not less.

 

Pretty sure it does but I could double check after lol.

 

I feel like I got lucky with this Battery my OEM Battery only lasted 4 years. Time will tell. I have NO plans on getting rid of this Truck so we will see.

Question.
What if one were to have both the cowl intake and what you did?

Perhaps a y splitter or a tee that goes between the two. The you can get a giant valve to sure off the air scoop if one were to see a water crossing. is that doable?
