Interesting - is it a different EO number than the TRD sc you had? Do the black and gray ones have different numbers? My SC is a black TRD.

Anyone installed an AFR wideband with Doug Thorley Headers? Not looking to pull the headers out to reweld a bung on them but sounds like its best to place the wideband before any of the cats. Debating using a bung clamp after the 1st cat but before the 2nd so I dont have to remove everything.

Just installed one with a 7th injector set up from URD and a 2.2 inch pulley. Totally different vehicle now.

Ordered my Super from URD the other day like @1997tacomav6 suggested. Can't wait for it to get here to install, should have ordered from them 6 months ago. :annoyed:

Repaired and properly configured my remote fuel and timing map setup on my Greddy EMU.

E85 is bonkers. With the Greddy EMU I can advance timing, not just retard it. So not only have I removed all timing retard in the E85 timing map (in which I had a lot having a super pingy 5vz) but even added 2 degrees in all of the boost cells. Also of note I actually retarded timing in vacuum on E85 per lots of googling that E85's flame front is faster- its not a ping thing but just trying to get best MPGs. But I might add a little timing back, having compression for 87 octane + Toyota probably already having an overly safe map = I can probably zero out the timing retard in vacuum- heck maybe even add a degree to see if MPGs get better. Also of note cold starts are a lot harder on E85 and the EMU doesn't have a cold start feature. There are work arounds that are not even band-aids really- like making every start overly rich, or a temp correction fuel map but it would be active for both E85 and 91, so I just deal with the extra cranking on E85.

At 6psi I dare say it pulls as hard if not harder than 9.5psi on 91 octane. Stands to reason if I'm getting about 10hp/tq for each degree of timing + the cooling effect of E85 that I'm easily making up for the loss of 3.5psi of boost and in some regions over 10 degrees of timing retard.

That’s awesome, I’ve thought about E85 adding a map but was afraid of the injectors and fuel lines being an issue especially being 25 year old rubber fuel lines. Are you setup with different maps on the fly for timing?
That’s my next step with the haltech Rotary switch you can add up to 12 different maps if you wanted.
Going to see what happens with 100 octane and different mixtures at 93, 95,97,octane and see how much timing can be added.

    No shafts
I have 4 pairs of rotors, the spoket gears, and a OEM TRD 7th injector kit left fo sale.

Yolo I guess. Initially had some paralysis by analysis as the google had go/no-go results. I really wanted to try it and some people had posted they avoided gunk issues by mixing tanks. Run E85 for two tanks or so, then run 91, back and forth. If something degrades I suppose I'll stumble onto that and upgrade it as it happens. I don't mind eventually being darn near 100% aftermarket from pump to injector tip to run E85, its worth it.

Yep. Tested and yeah the EMU can switch on the fly while the motor is running. But I don't use it like that, I press the rocker after I pull up to the gas pump and shut off. I have two rockers- one switches the fuel and timing maps, the other turns on/off the water/meth.

Because E85 has a faster burn I read that in partial throttle one should actually have some retard vs. their 87-91 octane map. I had -2 for a while and looked at MPGs, and then I just went back to zero'd out timing/OEM timing and MPGs, I'm sticking with zero'd out in vacuum for now. I chalk it to Toyota having conservative 87 octane tuning from the factory. On that note since I can I added 1 or 2 degrees in my 91 octane map's low load regions. Ideally I'd get on a dyno to find MBT- eventually I do want to hit a dyno for a professional touch to the tunes but I think I want some trans work done first.

That and you can add a flex fuel sensor to automatically adjust based on ethanol fuel content right?

I'm telling you E85 is bonkers. Even E60'ish (when I still have a lot of 91 left in the tank, OEM o2 sensor'ed fuel trims have no issue adjusting- fun fact I didn't have the map switching configured right at first and drove around on E85 with NO compensation on the OEM ECU! It ran but threw a code shortly for fuel trims, but point being it was actually able to trim it itself).

The added cooling and octane resistance- I'd bet E85 feels stronger that equivalent octane race fuel as on top of both having the same high octane, E85 is being injected about 40% more so its having an intercooling effect too.

Finally got my kit! Going through it now to make sure I have everything.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest where to put the EO sticker that came with it? Would it be on the hood near the belt / vacuum line routing, near the radiator stickers, or on the actual super?
