    Evening all:

    Enjoy the cruise Ken!

Little by little, that's how I get things done anymore, at least I get them done, EVENTUALLY!

:( just saw that the Delaware River claimed another victim where we fish, that's the second of the year. Article said that he was trying to swim across it, which is a big NO NO, unfortunately there will be more who try and fail!

    Good morning

Very wild weather last night and early this morning , there also was alot of lightning strikes and very loud thunder. Both Gunny and Rascal were looking for comfort as they didn't like the Thunder and lightning

Morning gunny. I crossed that river a zillion times. Always in a truck and always using the bridge the township had built

Well, I found the water leak. It's under the kitchen. The house has been "upgraded" with pex, but it's old school pex like they used in mobile homes in the '70s. Grey color and pretty thin. It's a small split right at a brass T, so I'm gonna have to get under there and see if I can do a temporary fix with some automotive heater hose and a clamp, or can cut the pex and remove the part still on the nipple and then reclamp. I've had the water off as much as possible since discovering we had a leak, and since finding where it is I've had a fan blowing into the crawl space from the kitchen access... but that's a lot of water down under the house.
Whomever did the old pex routed it three times the distance it could have been done. No wonder we have to run the hot water for about a minute before it gets hot. I'm wondering if I should just redo the plumbing. Other than crawling around in a cramped space it would be a pretty simple job.
So far I'm thinking a temporary fix and procrastinate...

    Morning all:

Glad to hear that you found the leak Travlr, cutting it off, removing the split end, and re clamping sounds like the best and easiest fix and wouldn't be just temporary. I've done the temporary fix on copper pipe until I get time get to replace it properly, you do what you gotta do!!

In these parts, it looks like Monday when we'll get more than a 50% chance of showers to clear some of the forest fire smoke that's drifted in. Bad news is that the storms also bring an ignition source, lightning, hopefully with enough water to damp things down. Time for saline eye drops... before walking around the block to see if the 4-point whitetail appears near the US Courthouse again.

Well after a mud bath the water is not leaking. I got in there and there is a space that is dug out so someone could crawl under the foundation from one addition to the next (old house/1914) and to get to the leak my feet are in the depression... and mud. But at least there is no standing water. After getting down there I had the wife go out to her she-shed to get a cardboard box to lay on... and of course she comes back with a monster box. But it actually fit down the hole with a little maneuvering and holding myself out of the mud I got it under me. Took about 15 minutes after I got back out to clean off the mud with our pressurized irrigation water, and my favorite old working shoes may take a week or so to dry out.
I think I am going to replumb. Houses around here were built by people descended from pioneers with no "minds eye" and they can't visualize what they are doing before they do it. I've seen houses built with two kitchens on opposite sides of a wall, bathrooms you have to go through from one part of the house to another, and now this spaghetti plumbing. I can probably do it in a day and then I can trust it.

    Interesting!
Where did you cross a bridge across the Delaware River that a township had built, there's what they call the free bridge In Easton Pa. that was built long before the toll bridge just North of it on the interstate.
