They are on 4-game losing streak.

Hopefully, Dodgers win on Cal Ripken Jr’s 2131 (30yr) anniversary.

There is no greater pain and no other baseball fan will know it better than being a Mariners fan.

They’ve been in a playoff position (still are, 1/2 game up on Texas in the wildcard, but it’s really hard to hold out hope they’ll stay there) for the majority of the season, but their road struggles (1-3 Baltimore, 1-3 Mets, swept by Philly, then 1-3 Cleveland, swept by Tampa Bay, now lost first game at Atlanta) have them losing 12 of their last 22, only salvaged by a couple series wins at home.

It’s borderline criminal, absolutely embarrassing, and completely heartbreaking.

Now we can’t even blame the front office or ownership, they went out and got 2 of the best available bats with Geno and Naylor and a serviceable left handed reliever at the deadline.

This is on the coaches and more so the players. They choose to be losers. They choose to not change the narrative.

I promised that after missing playoffs again last year (21st time in 22 years) I was done.

I’ve been to 3 games this year, and I’m really pissed at myself for letting myself cave.

I’ve got tix to Friday’s game against the Angels, and I’ve already decided I’m done, don’t care if I dropped $150.

I’m done with this team until they make the playoffs again, which who knows how that’ll work out.

Only team in MLB to not win a pennant. Naylor and Geno are rentals, Naylor doesn’t seem like he wants to be here, we turned Geno away at the end of 2023, why would he want to stay or what would make fans believe ownership will pay for either of them?

    So fucked.

As a Diamondbacks fan, honestly Naylor didn't seem like he wanted to be here either. He hit a walk-off homer with us and he seemed more pissed than anything afterwards. He was doing the post game interview after that game and his teammates were dousing him in a Gatorade bath and he just seemed like he was uncomfortable or wanted to be somewhere else. It's like dude come on you just won the game, what else do you want?

I know he takes the game seriously and wants to do well but at least look like you want to be there. Geno is a great guy though he was loved here in AZ like he is up in Seattle. He is just a very streaky player, very binary.

I was a die hard faithful fan of my teams in my younger days. Old retired guy now and I have morphed into more of a fair weather fan. When my teams are winning now I'm into it, I'm pleased. When they are losing, I watch often and attend the occasional games but losing has very little effect on me anymore.

As a fan, I have been blessed. My teams for decades, Giants, 49ers, A's and Warriors each gave me a decade of stunning success. A's in the 70's, 49ers in the 80's, and Giants & Warriors during their amazing dominance. I was pretty Lucky.

oh gosh, how did I forget going to Raiders games in the 70's....Loved them then. Raiders and the A's, now gone, I don't watch or attend their games.

I'm with you. Growing up through the '70s into the '80s, I became a fan of the Northern Conference. The best games were those between the Packers, Bears, and Vikings, and it's nice to see the Detroit Lions coming back! Who can ever forget the journalist, George Plimpton, playing through training camp and into one NFL season game? The Ice Bowl is still great to watch on video, especially since the write-in campaign helped get that last player inducted in the Hall of Fame, Jerry from Sandpoint, Idaho, #64. Nice to hear (ESPN radio) about Mariners doing well, even as a Coeur d'Alene, Idaho baseball player played well against them. Enjoy the games! Avoid injury...

I’m just bellyaching, but it’s been a long time, loooong time since the Mariners were really relevant. I’m almost 50, and I say I’m over watching/doing things that I don’t like, but hope springs so watching them tank is a painful process every year. Mariners games were always the one thing my dad and I loved to go to together. I swear, if they win a world series, I’ll break down and cry

They are way overdue, its brutal. I'd sooner see my Blue Jays win but I'm a seahawks fan so can easily cheer for any other Seattle team as a secondary. Hopefully they can hang on to the wild card.

Naylor never seemed to vibe here. It was weird. I’m glad he got dealt because there’s no way he was going to re-sign here after this season. I think Locklear has some good potential to fill in at first. I’m kinda over Pavin.

PTI...I want to acknowledge Mariner Fans...your words are heartbreaking.

Cal Ripken's special day was very memorable as many significant baseball figures attended the game in celebration.

The Baseball Gods are finding ways for the Dodgers to lose.

For the second night in a row, the Dodgers let (the possibility) of a win slip through their hands in the bottom of the 9th.

My Philly Buddy and I were talking on our way home; he said he hates this part of the season because teams can somehow look exhausted as the season winds down.

I suppose for contenders, they can't wait for the Playoffs to begin.

The Baltimore Fans were very respectful of the significance of the moment.

It's hard to say but here's to hoping the Dodgers get a win today to avoid being swept for a second consecutive series.

I always enjoy the Dodgers losing, but that loss was something that even makes me feel bad for them

As for Cal. One of my favorite games I attended was his farewell season, his last game against the A's. The ovation we gave him went on forever and you could tell he appreciated it. Every time he came up to bat he was cheered. He broke the shortstop mold, he was a pretty big guy at that position, kinda unheard of back then.

My Giants failed last night in the 9th like the Dodgers did, not as dramatic. We could have moved within 3 games of the Mets in the wild card race. Our home run streak was also snapped.

    Thanks for that!

I was holding my breath today and now I can exhale! lol

Dodgers avoid a sweep by the Orioles.

I had a great time at the park last night...thought it odd that Yamamoto was still out there in the 9th. (I know...not paying attention to the scoreboard)

He should have been allowed to finish...even though his pitch count was at 112.

Heck, I would have preferred Yamamoto walked him instead of putting it in a hittable spot.

But what happened, happened and the rest is history.

The dodgers are not as focused on the fundamentals of being a base runner...and they need to snap out of that!
