Was the title ever actually in your name? I know they had a bunch with mistakes, but didn't know if that was all the old title still in their name?

The title was never in my name no. We tried multiple times but the title was constantly wrong so I could never register the vehicle that's why it was returned to the dealer for my money back. Towards the end they were going to have to send out for a new title and that was going to be months of down time on a bike I couldn't ride.

Also the title was never in the dealers name.. it was in the og owners and coparts name never dells.

Crazy... Hopefully the state does something about it now. Purely negligence on the dealership side.

I did some googling out of curiosity, apparently it's common/standard for dealers not to re-title used vehicles in their name. They're still fucking incompetent, don't get me wrong, but I guess that's normal to keep it in the previous owners name as long as it's properly endorsed/signed over (which they clearly didn't do that part).

    Hopefully so.
Correct but that's if you take it in and trade your vehicle the tracer had gone through multiple hands at that point and nobody had proper record of where it went. When I got my f150 from the Nissan dealer it was titled under the Nissan dealer. Not all dealerships will do this but a lot of them will do it to save on headaches like this.

Wouldn't they have to pay taxes on it then? That would make sense

Correct that's why some dealers don't register it from doing some digging back then so they don't have to pay taxes.

The new Spotwalla app has now been released to replace the no longer supported Bubbler GPS app that I've used for over 10 years. I installed it last night and this morning took the vintage Honda out for a little test run.

    https://spotwalla.com/trip/5bfd-1929838c-3082/view

With Bubbler even set to its smallest time interval of 5 minutes it would still cut off corners and lines were straight, so you really had to look closely at Spotwalla to find the actual roads you were on. The new app is configured to follow the roads in a much more realistic track. This was a pretty short test run of only 31 miles, but these are all secondary roads I picked to see how it would do. Must admit I'm impressed. Weather permitting I'll give it a longer test tomorrow.

    Nice!

All I did was rip the windows outta the jeep and go to the other side of town to get an oil change kit for the bike. Wanted to ride, but the left ankle is killing me. maybe later today if it feels better. Dang dealer/shop was full of people looking and buying things.

That is impressive. Did you have your phone plugged in? Creepy amount of data there, you used 4% battery on that ride  But 4% for 1 hour of riding is great, IMHO. Is there a cost to the spotwalla app? I've never looked at it before aside from a few of the rides you or others have posted in here.

App is currently free, not sure if a paid version may come out later. I do have a paid version of Bubbler. Phone is not plugged in, this phone doesn't offer wireless charging or I would put the wireless charging head on my Quadlock.

I didn't even notice it showed battery percentage so thanks for pointing it out. Running Bubbler I never charged while in use and it would last 24 hours on IBA rides so there is that. From what I understand data use is quite reasonable as well. I'll be testing it again tomorrow on a longer ride and will post that tomorrow. So far from this first ride I'm impressed.

The times I've used REVER's tracking it'll eat something north of 10%/hour, so the 4% you got is great.

On a different note, drained the oil, coolant, and pulled the water pump cover on the 701. The seal around the impeller shaft looked OK at first, but when I compared it to the new seal, the very most inner lips were definitely work down. 99% sure that is where my leak was, it wouldn't take much pressure to force coolant past it, I don't think. Oil itself was definitely contaminated, but I didn't see any sparkly bits and the magnet on the drain plug was normal amounts of gunky. I'm feeling fairly optimistic at this point. Right as I got the seal compared and was about to start putting stuff together my daughter woke up from her nap, so still all torn apart in the garage until later tonight when my wife gets off work and I can get back out there.

Can't freaking wait until my daughters old enough to hang out in the garage with me. Right now too many mouse traps and chemicals to trust her free roaming

Age of the phone also makes a huge difference, older batteries have less capacity than from new

You can set security zones which would have blocked that.
