Uhm, the fender wells. :boink: They need soap, all purpose cleaner and a scrub brush.

Still waiting to get mine done. Holding out to see the differences in performance/driveability when I upgrade to larger tires. Then ill get the tune. Then regear, with an upgrade in tire size again for next set. That's the plan anyways.

Concerning the bed liner. It’s a “Catch 22” for me. I want to stop stuff from sliding around but with a liner I’ll have to get in the bed more often to move stuff around or to get stuff out. I’m constantly hauling large boxes for church and can slide them in and out with ease but when I add a liner I’ll have to get in the bed more often. But since I got a bed step maybe that won’t be too bad. I’m liking the Weathertech Impact liner. It’s got about a 2 inch lip on it too, which I like. I have also enlarged the drain holes slightly in the bed at the front of the bed and drilled 2 more drain holes in the same approximate area.

I have a similar situation. I just reach over the side of the bed and fold the bed mat up toward the cab. Then the 'slick' floor is exposed to load from the tailgate. I usually have one 36 x 30 x 24 box at ~125#. Pushing it in will move the mat up further if needed. Then close the gate.

    Yeah. Same

I didn't want black, but that's what was available. I have grown to like it more than anything else. The metal flake helps a lot. It looks awesome clean, but that is generally short lived (maybe a day). So I have gotten accustomed to the fact that black looks just as good with a coating of dust, sand, and water spots...

Pros and cons to how low the flaps reach, I shortened all the OEM ones, else I rip them off backing in deep snow. It is the plow ridges of packed snow or getting into the snowbanks to reach the mailbox, that presses them against the tire and rips the flap off the fender. Long is probably great if you never back up in deep dense snow.

I have a rubber bed mat. Because I'm lazy, I happened to leave a 3'x5'x1/4" sheet of Hardibacker in the bed for the winter. Stuff like cardboard slides easier than on the bed mat but not so that it's flying around on corners or sudden stops. 'Panic' stops might be another thing....

My wife and daughter hate me for it though :) They hate parking far away from everyone, they hate I put the car cover and moving blankets over it any time we have bad weather.
My daughter keeps saying "your truck is old, stop parking so far away!"
My son fully supports me parking far away though, so at least I got him on my side.

I get all my offroading done on the ice. Nothing like driving across a frozen river with 40 feet of water below you to get you energized in the morning. Windows down, seatbelts off.

We'll, at the molecular level, it has to do with interatomic forces. At our normal scale, different materials have different coefficients of friction.

The Tacoma composite bed is quite slick, and stays that way even with some scuffs and scratches. A painted steel bed very quickly becomes more grippy as it gets used.

Pro tip: if you use some "tire shine" on one side of the OEM mat, it's a bit easier to slide cargo, but still better than the bare bed. You can flip it over to the higher-friction side if you need extra grab.

I'd just take the mat out for the winter (just roll it up with the top side out and tie with some twine)instead of messing with a big piece of plywood.

It's neither big or plywood. It's cement board.

By itsself, it would slide on the bed. I have a tonneau so it's not a problem

Throw an unused piece of carboard down on the mat & use it as a conveyor for the boxes.
