I had no issues with -38 fitment on the 285/70/17 or even the 295/70/17 but couldn’t get the 285/75/17 to fit without even more modifications. It’s strange because the fitment is different with each individual truck. I’ve seen plenty of guys in my local Toyota group running the same sizes without all the rubbing I had.

Ill snap a picture when im back home. I will say they look more narrow than my old coopers. They taper on the corners and ive thought the same a lot.

    Question?

this probably has been addressed somewhere in the 70 pages but hard to pin point.

I plan on new tires soon and would like some opinions if y’all think my setup would except 285/75/17’s

Current lift is right at 3” Ironman Foam Cell Pro front and rear with full leaf pack. JBA uppers, and currently no CMC. Current wheel and tires are 285/70/75 Maxxis Razr 32.6 I think? On FN 5 Star 17x9 with -6 offsets. They’ve always looked small for lift proportions.

Here’s a picture (s)IMG_9964.jpg IMG_8080.jpg of side view for comparison. If you think it won’t fit what’s the recommended fix? TIA!

That clearance between the fender and tire is enormous. 285/75/17s would definitely eat up some of that gap. Not having a CMC is going to be a problem imho

So still think the CMC is a must?

Yes. I still run with a cmc but can’t imagine if I didn’t have it. But hey. Try it and if it’s really bad then address it.

Specific questions for those that have this combo wheel, tire size and STD. JBA Upper Control Arms.

Will s 285/75/17 (11.3 wide x 33.9 tall) tire and 17x 8.5”, -6 offset with 4.5 BS fit without contacting the arms at full lock?

My current 285/70/17 (11.2x32.7”) are close.

What uca are you running? The jba sticks out on the front side a bit. I think at 0 it puts me less than a quarter inch from the uca with tires straight forward.

Ok I’m adding this as a data point for those with this combo.

    17x8.5, -6 offsets, 4.5 back spacing

    JBA STD. Upper Control Arms

Tires size considering 285/75/17 11.3 wide thread inflated by 33.9 tall (Nitto G3’s, Toyo Open Country AT III’s, and Cooper Strongholds)

Sent question to JBA wether their arms would have clearance issues with this combo wheel and tire.

They state should be no issues but point out rubbing in the usual other areas Cab mount, etc..

I finally got my 285/75 /17s and SCS wheels installed today. I'm still getting use to the polished wheels PXL_20250909_025108559.jpg PXL_20250909_025102148.jpg
