got these 0-1.5 lift kings on my truck and there is hardly any uptravel. Bottom out well before the bump stop touches the frame too..

I am running icon stage 1 RXT and have a high clearance bumper. Bed is empty but has a lightweight plastic cover on it.

Anyone have this problem? I got these shocks expecting them to be stock replacements but here I am with this mess and not sure what I’m going to do to correct it yet. Any ideas or thoughts welcome. Thanks!

The springs hold the wait, the shock soften the motion. Since the bed looks to be normal ride height I would say you have the wrong shocks.

Where did you get them from and what is the model number?

That definitely looks wrong if that's your standard ride height. You sure you got the right ones for the Tacoma? Check the part number

Used but the seller seemed competent since they listed the part number as

    25001-121A

Probably my fault for buying used though

Shock is too short for that spring pack.

Yeah those definitely don't appear to be stock replacement (or 0-1.5" lift) size (stock is ~14" collapsed, ~22.8" extended).

Your options for that are going to be:
    Raise your upper shock mounts,
Raise your truck up higher (probably will need at least another ~3" lift),
    Some combination of those two,
Or get your $$ back (return them to who you got them from, or resell them).

(I guess you could also lower the lower shock mounts too, although you'll end up cutting into your overall ground clearance that way)

Pics are at ride height, I have about an inch of up travel and 3-4 before the bump stop would even contact the frame let alone compress at all

Assuming the top of the shock is installed correctly, message the seller with those pics. They either didn’t know what they sold you or were misleading you for some reason.

The other risk here is that if the seller was running those on a truck with the belief that they were actually for 0-1.5” lift, they might have already bottomed those shocks out without the correct bump stops, possibly causing internal damage? I’d be wary of running those without giving them a careful inspection.

You should can measure their actual collapsed and extended lengths and reference that to King’s published shock sizes to figure out what you actually have.

Also, this doesn’t look right to me? Dunno, not intimately familiar with those shocks, but it looks like the lower shock eye is pressed up hard against the interior of the shock mount.

What im seeing is you have zero room for the rear of the truck to go downward before the shock bottoms out, forget your up travel....
This just doesnt look right to me...
Im far from a toyota shock expert though...
    Theyre wrong!
Put your old ones back on....

Usually “uptravel” (stuff, compression, collapsed length) refers to the axle moving upward in relationship to the truck. “Down travel” (Droop, extended length) refers to the axle’s motion away from the vehicle. It’s backward like that. This shock has all down travel, zero uptravel.

Your boatyness is showing. Ain’t no suspension travel at sea

Up travel is the amount of travel the tire has to go up
Down travel is how much the tire can go down, both measured from “at rest” position

Accutune shows a shorter shock body for that model #, and for 0-1.5" lift, even with aftermarket leaf springs like you have, looks like 6+1 pack.

My guess is they are a different model # than advertised.

I wonder if the guy that sold them to you already had his shock mounts relocated. Those are some long boys for sure
