It’s still in development. I don’t have any developments to share at this time but we’ll be sure to announce developments we can share.

It’s slow going, but it is being worked on.

I have been running 91-93 octane, up from the 87 I had been running with the tune. It has made no difference. Here is the best way to describe my experience. Getting pretty frustrated and tempted to go back to stock. Here is my response to another poster....."I think I know what you are talking about. I got the Mild/Medium about 9 months ago. I have definitely noticed what you describe in parking lots and I sometimes just coast through those because I know that if I push the accelerator, the truck will lurch. I love the truck, but at the end of the day, I really just want to put it in D and go and have the truck behave like I want without having to hit ECT, or S mode or anything :). When I am hitting it pretty hard to get onto the freeway, it is great. It is the short bits that this happens on. Either in a parking lot, or short street where I am going pretty slow, and just need a touch more acceleration. When I even touch it, the truck lurches and I can clearly hear the truck in higher revs. I do not recall this ever doing this when it was stock before the tune." I admit I don't know a lot about how this works, but I am not clear on how running it in S4, would help

I don’t know how many miles on your Tacoma, or what year? Might having mechanical issues before getting getting tune. But who told you to run higher octane gasoline? It is not nessasry! Talk to your tuner, try get lower tunes, and try it out. If you still not satisfied, then have removed, go back stock.

Brand new 2023 Limited with less than 5k on it. The OTT folks recommend 91 octane as that is what their dynos were tested with.

Depending on your tune 91 may absolutely be required, and running lower octane if it's tuned for 91 can cause knocking issues, or worse.

If you just don't like the throttle response, that can also be adjusted.

Apparently, every Tacoma are different. My 2023 TRD 4x4 is 6 speed manual, my OTT tune is on Spicy. My tuner said it does not matter what octane of gasoline I use in my 4x4. But I put non-ethanol, 89 octane in my Tacoma. No problems.;)

Overland Tailor Tuning (OTT) – 3rd Gen Tacoma 3.5L V6 “9.2” Calibration Release

When we launched our first calibration for the 3rd Gen Tacoma 3.5L, it set the standard and put OTT on the map. That was years ago — but the platform that started it all for us has never been forgotten.

Today, we’re proud to announce the release of the “9.2” update to our original “9.0” calibration. This is not just a revision. It’s the next evolution in how your Tacoma drives. OTT has a commitment to continuous improvement, and this update is yet another example of that.
    • Retains class-leading output
    • Reworking of multiple areas of the calibration to improve and more predictably respond, especially at slower speeds.
    • Universal support — naturally aspirated, supercharged, manual, automatic
    • CARB-EO pending
    • FREE update for all current OTT clients
We’ve also seen the rumors. Some claim that because our calibration is CARB certified, we can’t or won’t update it. The truth? We absolutely can — and we’re willing to invest in re-certification whenever it’s needed.

That’s part of our ongoing commitment to keep our files current, refined, and compliant. It’s an investment we make because the community deserves both performance and peace of mind.

We don’t cut corners. We don’t abandon platforms. We refine, improve, and support — while staying fully emissions-legal.

Every mile. Every test. Every tweak. This update is proof that our commitment to the 3rd Gen Tacoma platform is as strong as ever.

9.2 isn’t just an update — it’s a reminder of why OTT continues to lead the way.

Wow! wasn’t expecting that. Looking forward to real world feedback once it’s released to the masses. Thank you for not sweeping us up into the dust bin. This is awesome.

    Hi Justin,

Is it safe to say, we can now reach out to our tuner for the new 3rd Gen Tacoma 3.5L V6 “9.2” Calibration?

I'm loving my tune as it is presently, should I still get it updated?

Not mandatory. If you’re happy with what you have, rock it!

The update is something I'd personally do (hype aside), and we're excited to see everyone's feedback on it!

Hopefully the 9.2 is meant to address this (below). I currently have Mild/Medium, but was going to ask my tuner to take me down to Lite/Mild in hopes that it would resolve the issue. Perhaps it is just a matter of going to 9.2 that will resolve it instead?

If my tuner takes me to lite/mild from mild/medium will 9.2 be installed with that? Or, is this something separate I need to ask for?
