Yep, the pens got smashed but they got blown out in game 2 too and bounced back for 2 straight wins in games 3 and 4.

Luongo is a solid goalie, just doesnt perform against the Hawks

 

Watched the Hawks/VAN game last night. Great hockey, but man does Luongo suck! I'm glad my team doesn't have him for the next 11 yrs. Not sure what he was doing on that flailing blocker save. Oh and did anyone else think Hossa was holding the stick on that play that lead to the game winner?

Im a Pens fan but I like Hossa, wish he could have stayed. But watch the replay when he makes the play in the slot, looks like a pretty obvious holding stick. Regardless Luongo still sucks.

I understand people are pissed, but he's a free man he didn't owe the Pens anything. Because of him they were a game away one yr, also that was his best playoffs of his career that year.

Yeah I heard he turned down $7mil/yr for 7 yrs somewhere in that neighborhood. I think he got $6 or $7 for 1 yr with the wings. But in all honestly he was pretty right. I mean the Pens were in like 10th place at the deadline that yr. Also I wonder what would the team be like now if they had Sid, Geno, Fleury and Hossa all tied up in mega deals. The rest of the team would be made up of AHL players.....Kind of like it is now?????

 

Exactly... but the call-up young guns are all producing and playin well. Mark Letestu is playin his ass off. The pens finished with the 3rd best record in the east with crosby and malkin both out. That says alot about the depth of their team and how good their entire system is.
