I made it home with no issues. Doesn’t look like the nut has moved at all since this morning.
Thanks again to everyone to get me down off the trail yesterday and home with no other problems.

I was talking with a few people about planning something in big bear but stay at the Holcomb valley ranch. We’ll be closer to the trails, surrounded by them actually, and shouldn’t have to worry about yogi bear telling us “no music but you can have your phone at half volume during the day”

He busted a brake cylinder while heading to San G. We thought it would be a simple swap and carry on but turned out to be more than just a single issue. Couldn’t even get the brake shoes off with the tools we had.

Damn? I wonder what caused the cylinder to fail? Damn thing sounds complicated compared to mine?

This is a brake drum system of my '98 Tacoma, and the drums on these are pretty easy to work on with the exception of reconnecting the "return spring"... WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$ that thing is to reconnect!!! Pretty sure I made cuss words that never existed??? LOL!!! But yeah, a fairly easy drum brake system.
    BrakeDrumShoe_antiSeize_backplate.jpg

Wished I was able to go this trip. Planned on it, but other things happened last minute, literally.

Well, just glad things turned out safe for everyone involved as that is what matters!!!:cheers:
