PCS System?

Bought my 2021 TRD Sport July 1st 2025 with 47000 miles. Everything on it works
as it's supposed to with one exception, the PCS System. The PCS yellow light stays
on and the Dynamic Radar Controlled System says to clean sensor. I've cleaned the
sensor and the camera. No joy. Bought a new sensor, still no joy. Any ideas? I don't
use the DRCS so it's no loss but I'd like to have the Collision Control System working.
Living in the woods, deer and turkey do have a tendency to jump out in front of you
and at 76, my reflexes have slowed a tad.:(
The nearest Toyota Dealer is a 120 mile round trip I'd just as soon not make if I
can help it. Like Ron White, I'm not a fan of going "into Public" or driving the
    interstate.
    Thanks

Just to clarify: Your Adaptive Cruise Control does not work, how about the standard "speed" cruise control?

Replacing the Radar Sensor may require realignment and calibration, maybe not. The dealer would say it does, there is some experience with people doing lifts with it working and some where they lose the ability. Do you have a lift?

My understanding from other threads is the radar is not much good at things coming from you sideways, like deer like to do and small objects like turkeys and small children too. Your expectations may not be met.

    You asked for thoughts!

Sorry, I was a little rushed this morning when I asked. The Standard Cruise Control works just fine.
If I have to take it to the shop, I'll take the new and the old one with me but a dollar to a donut
hole they'll say both are no good to sell mt one of theirs. No lift and no plans for one. My days of
that are over. If I need an off road vehicle, My RZR 1000 or Ranger 800 will do it for me and
even both my tractors are 4 wheel drive with all kinds of clearance. Here's part of my property.

If I can't fix it and the shop wants to play games, I'll learn to live with it just like it is.
It's just that I'm one of those types that hate to have a toy that don't work as it was
designed to.:annoyed:It's a quirk I have to live with. Especially if it's not going to do
    what I need anyway.
Thanks for your time and answer.

The one time I've actually needed the PCS to work it didn't and I killed a deer.

Agreed, the PCS was designed more to help mitigate vehicle-vehicle collisions (and I guess also has some ability to detect pedestrians/people standing). Animals weren't something they prioritized.

I've not had to dig into the PCS for anything on mine yet, but I would expect there to be some codes stored as to what is preventing it from working (there are two sensors... the one in the grill, and also the camera up on the windshield, if either are dirty or blocked, the system won't function).

Yeh, I cleaned both and the more I learn from guys, the more I'm inclined to just drop it and live with it.
I miss the days I could climb up into the engine compartment, sit on the inner fender and do just about
anything that needed done.:( :) Thanks.

I'm of the type that wants something to work as it "should" have been designed. Too many things aren't these days, and they make it hard to modify most everything.

That's me, like the proverbial bur under the saddle, it irks the crap out of me. But as I get older
and learn to tolerate better. Not much but some and a 120 mile trip for something I don't need
    qualifies.

Interesting, how do I disable it and get rid of the light without damaging the regular Cruise Control?
I couldn't find a PCS fuse. I'd appreciate it if that's all it took to get rid of that dang constant reminder.
I tried turning it off and that didn't work.
    Thanks

If I understood the thread I linked, the OP was pleased with what his dealer did - that is all. Just thought you might be interested in somebody's success.

I do not think there is a way to disable the Adaptive Cruise Control and still keep the Standard Cruise Control. To my understanding when the radar sensor is disabled the center display saying 1)"clean me" goes away, but there is still a 2)dash light present and 3)Standard Cruise is gone.

The disassembly of the Combo Meter and a piece of tape or removal of the LED would solve the light on the dash. I've done work on the dash LEDs and for an "electronics" (not electrical) tinkerer it is not hard work. The worst problem is removal and replacement of the gauge needles.

Thanks, In that case, I'll just live with it. I use the Standard Cruise Control and don't want to lose that.
The PCS is a nice option but not anything I've ever had before. I may at some point get it fixed if I
was to pass my truck on to my daughter but for now, I'll just live with it.
I do appreciate your time and answers though.
