Bang your knee on a raw bed , I bought mine for my 2018 at my local dealership for $150 in 2018, a bum knee can ruin a weekend, just messing with ya man. You’ll find a deal

That comment from your friend is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.

Buy an OEM bed mat, be done with it.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
OE mat if you want to restrict stuff sliding some.

Budget knee pads from the orange or blue box box store for crawling around projects. Even with the mat the pressure on the knees can be uncomfortable. Especially if they are already creaky like mine.

Easy to remove? Light? Can you roll it up easily?

    Thank you.

I love it. Had a 2nd gen TRD Sport, loved it. Took us all over the country towing our camper. Sold it to buy my father in law's Ecoboost crew cab. This 4th gens power can't be beat for my needs, yanks my camper no problem and is flat out a joy to drive when not pulling my camper. Don't need to stuff people in the back seat so that's not an issue. Highly recommend.

Super easy to remove, I was going to say you can’t really roll it up but it was rolled up in the box it shipped in so you can roll it and then put a piece of tape or a bungee cord to keep it rolled up.
BedRug XLT, highly recommend. Let me know if you want one I’ve got a parts guy.

Wait for a sale at one of the OEM parts sites, (Fred Anderson, Dothan, Serra) and get one for cheap. I got my OEM on sale for just under $100 if I remember correctly. I couldn’t find a third party one for cheaper. For the record I have the mat and the bedliner and my bed is not eating itself. Mat is worth it. My knees and dogs feet are appreciative.

The truck bed is composite (aka plastic), so there is nothing to "eat through."

Bed rug for the win. Makes knees and cargo happy. Can eventually get the whole liner if you feel like it.

This right here. Not going to ever need another, easy cut to fit if needed.

A horse stall mat will attract horses who will occupy the bed and then chew on it once they find out OP hasn’t provided oats.

And those horses might attract crazy red heads. YMMV

I went with the Tacoma OEM bed mat. It is tough and durable and fits perfectly. I particularly like the fact that it is thick. I occasionally throw heavy metal target stands in the bed for times when I go to the firearms range. I had a similar mat in my 2022 Tacoma. While it had slight gouges from the stands, there was no penetration and attendant damage to the composite bed. You may luck out and find a dealer that offers free shipping. I must admit though, the horse stall mat sounds like it is GTG.
