    Have a 2005 2wd with a 3.73 no elocker or lsd axle - A04A

rear end ran dry and locked up. Looking for a new(to me) 3rd member/rear end.

found 1, but no history, just this tag.

Can the axle be ID’d from this?

Haven’t pulled mine yet - any marks / stamps on the axle / 3rd that show the ratio?

    Thanks!

    Slow

I don't know how to ID the axle from that tag, maybe someone does.
You don't have any info on the truck it came out of?

I'm assuming your truck is a V6 PreRunner (6 lug wheels)?

In case it helps with the decoding, my truck is a 2013 TRD Sport with door-jam code A04C and this is what's on the axle:

My understanding (someone please chime in and sanity check me) is that the LSD and Open axles are the same, since the LSD is ABS driven.

So the only think you need to worry about is the 8" and the ratio. You're 3.73 is a ratio of 41 turns on the pinion to 11 turns on the ring-gear.
So if you have hands on the axle and a paint marker, you could just check.

2005-2008 trucks used a Mechanical LSD.
2009+ were open differential with a brake simulated LSD.
