With nothing on the showroom floors around here in Maine, it's tough to make a decision. Any input is greatly appreciated

Naturally I like the Amp Research XL the best but they are also the priciest, by at least $1,000 for the dual motor version. I do like the plug and play of the Amp research too and not the door magnets of the others. I can't imagine I'd need the OBD port for any other option and they can disconnect when servicing the truck.

GoRhino boards have now been rebranded as Real Truck Volt Step.

My local dealer is pushing the Rough Country.

Non lifted SR5 Double Cab, couple of seniors and a dog getting in and out. I hate the fixed running boards as I've got big feet and I end up having to contort to get in. Hoping the electric with the bigger surface will help the dog as she gets older.

I put the Rough Countries on a month ago and am pleased with them.

Sounds like you really want AMP boards, but at an RC price!

Lived in Texas 17 years….AMP Boards are the gold standard and by that definition, SHOULD cost the most.

They’re the Toyota Tacoma of power boards!

LOL…you know me all to well. You are so right but I’m about 12 weeks into a warranty issue with Real Truck so I’m a little gun shy right now.

The RCs are great. People rip on them all the time and say their stuff is crap. I disagree. I have used many of their parts from a lot of Jeep days and now with the Tacoma. My steps were installed at about 200 miles. Been through a tough winter and now with 25k they have been perfect. Also I am in sales so a ton of those miles are short trips in and out of the truck so I am positive have been used more than most. Also wait for it, I also did their leveling kit up front. I was told by all the pros from this forum that was a mistake as well and the parts would fail. They have not.

I would lean towards the RC’s too. Have had them now a year and just over 10,000 miles not a single issue. They seem to be very well made. I had the Amps on my 13 Taco and used to get a lot of screeching and squealing from dirt and dust getting up in the mechanisms offroading with them. Haven’t had that problem with the RC’s. It’s a personal choice thing at the end of the day, each person likes what they like.
