    @cord it's just a different gasket type for the Lexus part. I included the gasket pn needed in the original post. The surface on the back if the engine was setup to accept either type of gasket type. No issue thus far, and honestly the Lexus Gasket appears to be almost like a head gasket material, which is better in my opinion

    Just called Lexus. My local parts guy would give me a price over the phone without a VIN but is charging straight list price. So you can find them cheaper online. Bad news he stated it looks like there are only 2 gaskets in the US currently and the housing is on back order. He stated I would need to place an order to get est. lead time.

    Did confirm mine is leaking, bought a cheap scope on Amazon and was able to see the pink crystals on the plastic housing. Coolant wasn't noticeably low but still needs to be done.

    Will continue the search. Thanks again for the post it is a great option!

    @ScaryVersion I purchase my parts from: discountpartsmonster.com

    It is roughly the same price as the plastic Toyota parts.

    While I had everything apart, I replaced spark plugs and the PCV

    This is GREAT, although I hope I never need it. Do appreciate the ingenuity.

    Nice to know about the removal of the trans support to increase access.

    @Billy050302 for those of us that aren't mechanically incline what would a fair price be for this to be done by a mechanic ?

    Mine was about $700. But they weren’t sure what was involved. Probably would’ve cost $1000 -$1200 had they known before they quoted me. Honest people I must say.

    Was this install with OP's(billy) new improvised coolant pipe or Toyota's . I'm inclined to think not that many would attempted to make it it for liability reasons.

    @4x4spiegel I modified the Lexus aluminum part to fit my Tacoma. I used the MLS gaskets for the Lexus as well. I did not modify it like that person did but the mechanic told me the way I did it should work fine.

    I only waited a short time (a few weeks) for the part from Lexus Parts Online. Simple purchase.

    @Kidneypunch Did you remove the transmission for your Lexus part replacement?
