    I got OTT installed in my 2019 Tacoma in the Spring of 2022. I still love it. Can someone tell me if the tune has been updated much since then, and if so, would it be worth updating my truck to the new one?

    Thanks u/Chew. I read up a bit and am assuming the latest version is 9. Haven’t seen anything higher.

    You’re on an earlier version. You can update to the late 9.0 spec at no charge or convert to the CE file which is CARB-EO pending for our latest which will be 50 state legal.

    The CE file is a $50 for anyone on an earlier version of OTT.

    Updating to the later 9.0 or CE would be a decent upgrade, not a “total overhaul” so to speak but a refinement of the throttle control as well as some subtle tweaks to the engine calibration.

    Just had Q upload it for me and agree. Spent some time on the freeway and side streets on the way home to pick up some pizza and beer, seems like the same juice but with a smoother more refined squeeze, so to speak. Lovin’ it! Thanks for making time for me Q!

    Funny you mention it!

    We're about to announce an update to the non-CARB file, which will be Version 9.2

    Stay tuned to the OTT Social Media outlets and our OTT thread in the performance section regarding that update.

    Thanks! :)

    What is the difference between the CARB and non carb versions? Or does CARN just lag because it has to be retested?

    The update just released is an update to the original 9.0 file, which came out right before the CARB calibration. It includes some reworked areas we felt were exciting enough to push out now.

    As mentioned in our announcement, the new 9.2 update is already in the process of being certified for CARB-EO. Once that approval comes through, it’ll replace the current CARB file as our main offering. In the meantime, customers can choose between the current CARB file or the pending 9.2 update.

    Non-CARB versions can be released as soon as development and validation are complete. CARB versions, however, must go through the state’s Executive Order (EO) certification process, which involves extra testing, paperwork, and review. Because of that, CARB-legal calibrations naturally lag behind non-CARB versions—not from delays in tuning, but because of the lengthy approval process.

    Has there been any feedback yet on the 9.2? I am most interested in the performance at slow speeds

    I'm curious too. I can't take much more of the slow speed surging.

    Same. It’s getting kinda old lurching around when driving at slow speeds.

    It’s still quite new so I’m sure reviews will come. However, here’s one addressing the concerns you guys have;

    Had mine done today with the 9.2 and with just the short drive home I can tell the difference at slow speeds. I had just met with John (Kelly Tuning here in Albuquerque) last week to have him take me down from mild/medium to lite/mild because of the jerky motion at low speeds and from complete stop to go. Lite/mild took care of the lurching feeling but didn't feel as peppy once on the gas if that makes sense. Once I heard 9.2 was available I sent John a message and made an appointment and went back to mild/medium. John at Kelly Tuning has been nothing but awesome to work with and highly recommend him if you are in the Albuquerque area or close by. Once I get more time on 9.2 I will come back with a review but for now my concerns have been fixed with this update.

    It's a lengthy and costly process. Once it's awarded, we'll be sure to announce it.

    I'm gonna get the newest version (9.2) when my Tuner returns from overseas.

    Lots of folks still experiencing surges in low speed driving.

    I'm not experiencing these conditions...ask your Tuner for specialty tune between Lite/Mild...that has taken care of those surprising moments at low speed.

    Get the Spicy ECT to go with Mild Drive and you will be happy!

    Once I get the 9.2 version, I can update this thread with my results.

    POST UP A LEGIT DYNO CHART, PLEASE. You should have oodles of them by now. Dozens if not hundreds.

    Preferably from an independent DynoJet machine - start to finish - that you also share on YouTube. Where the *only* difference before and after is the tune. My suggestions below for your web site when you go "public" on forums like this and social media:

    * Modern Performance & Tuning in Phoenix
    * RMC in Las Vegas
    * Brenspeed in Dallas

    ------------------
    Otherwise, it doesn't exist.

    And hopefully it is better than this!!!!!!!!
