So, this happened today...I think my battery was loose and knocked my oil filler funnel thingie clean off my engine block! It's currently my work truck and need it running ASAP.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? Replaceable? JB Weld it back on??

I think the bigger question is why was your battery bouncing around in there? Fix that before you do anything else IMO.

But as always, what the hell do I know?

You know the root cause that's for sure.
Fix the battery tie down and buy a new filler neck after that, easy fixes.

Worry more about the unsececured 50lb plastic box filled with acid.

Thanks, folks! I feel like an idiot for not trying the obvious. Also, I love that I posted this last night and got no responses until the next morning when presumably all you guys are at work and supposed to be doing your jobs!

Afraid of gooping it because what happens when the seal breaks and I'm trail running and leaking oil all over nature.

And since I've now gotten rid of the oil filler neck, I see no reason to tighten the battery down. In fact it's completely free balling right now. It's an American Battery so it loves its freedom . @Buck Henry

Lol. For while it lasts, at least. I was joking earlier, by the way. It looks like all of my emoticons were removed when I replied to the thread for some reason. Apologies if it wasn't obvious, because of course I'm going to address the loose battery issue. I had no idea it was loose to begin with. It's not like I go through a 100-point check before I start my engine every time.

If Toyota did have a 100-point check item on the maintenance schedule, I guarantee it would have you disconnect the negative battery cable before checking the tie down bolts

    LS1 swap with nitros.
It’s actually 101 point. The last is to tighten the oil filter housing to 150ft-lbs and add loctite.

you really need to get that battery a concealed carry, and enroll it in a community college history class so it understands the cost of freedom
