Anyone ran into this sound? Coming from my passenger side and only starts when I hit 70mph or more. Initially I thought it was a speaker, but I unplugged both of those during a road trip and the noise continued.

No clue why an audio file is such a pain to get hosted, smh. YT kept having errors. Let's see if this works.

    Any ideas?

I ocassionally experience a sound like yours at freeway speeds with a strong cross wind. I believe it is my weather stripping leaking wind. Even thought I have an Access Cab and you have a DCSB, I would still check your weather stripping on your doors.

I do have a DCSB. I will give that a look. I added a 2nd layer of weather stripping a few years back too.

Maybe layer 1 and layer 2 combined is letting air through.

Quite possible. I will definitely give it a look in the AM. Its currently 113 outside here, ha. Thank you for the suggestion!

Checked the weather stripping. Passenger side looked fine. Driver side had a tear but no sounds on that side. To see if it made a difference, I pulled my 2nd layer completely off on both sides. No change. I did learn that the sound is only between 67 and 73 mph, super weird, and it seems to get louder on the decel than the accel. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board. Don't have a 2nd driver available otherwise I would just try that, ha.

So I found my sound. Wasn't on the passenger side at all, ha. Had a couple people say it was coming from my side. Then one suggested looking in the middle. Yahtzee! There is was. Looks like its coming from my e-brake assembly. Is there a procedure to tighten it? The rod I am pointing at is the culprit. If I pull up on it, the chittering stops.

Yep, just tightened that adjustment nut for the e-brake. 12mm wrench and a couple turns. Sound is gone now!

With E brake adjustments, you just want to check that the first click does not engage them as you need some free play.

My Taco seems to get a firm grab on about the third click.

Noted. I had found something that said you need 5-7 clicks for a "good adjustment." Before I touched it, there were way more. I remember my e-brake being adjusted years ago during routine services. Even my wife's car too. But I guess they don't look at that anymore, smh.

I'm just glad that noise is gone now. It was driving me crazy.

It can certainly depend. The one thing there is that E brakes are required to hold the combine gross weight, so trucks will be more capable than cars and such with lower tow ratings.

I don't trust shops to do the primary stuff correctly, let alone checking things. Haha!

I hate getting my truck back from service with the tech having yanked it up with all his might. They all do it and then it needs adjustment sooner. I pull it gently until it grabs.
