Cv boot tool?

    tacoma303 found this tool, when modified it works perfect. I tack welded 1/4"x1"x11" long steel bars on the handles. the points need to be ground to almost a point. The bars need to be spaced 6" apart and only tack weld as shown and where shown or you will mess up the temper of the steel in the HF tool.     This would have been helpful.
    I solved the last clamp problem for this. Maybe I got lucky but I used the corners of my vise grips in one hand to compress the band. Then with my other hand I was able to put the band holes in the hooks.
    I dunno if anyone else tried vise grips for this but they saved my butt big time tonight

    It appears to work on that type of bands. But all the bands I've used had a pinch spot to crush.. Make sure everything clean.. I've even used some
    weatherstrip adhesive on the boot lips worked great..

    Clean lol, everything is covered in a film of grease on my cv axle :rofl:
    Basically undercoated that rusty axle shaft and cup
