They are $200 normally. And are just good for giving you more induction noise really.

I’ve researched intake tubes available for our trucks for a long time. K&n and afe make ones that come with their drop in filters for somewhere in the 200 dollar range. HPS and mishimoto make a silicone tube like this

I’ve put intakes on many cars, different brands. Speaking just about a 3rd gen Tacoma, they are all cool looking noise makers. Any filter other than oem or wix your gambling sending unwanted damaging stuff into your engine

the intake tubes you are keeping a well designed oem filter housing and oem fitment but deleting the massive resonator that takes up half the engine bay, and gain some cool performance sound

those things are not worth $200 that’s why I never got one. It’s definitely worth 10 though!

I had a afe dry pro s intake on a 2nd gen before that I stupidly paid like 500 for back in the day. This sound reminds me of that. It’s really nice

it doesn’t not come with a sticker, or at least mine didn’t lol.
Tube and 2 clamps were in the box

I was just thinking that, I guess the sticker was the $190 difference

Are you saying my AFE dry washable lifetime filter is not going to protect my engine with one of these? $9.94 just to destroy it or am I not comprehending?

these can be run with any filter. I’ve used drop in filters before mainly on cars. For a truck especially one that would go off-road, I wouldn’t.

those filters in a dusty environment should be cleaned often. There are however stories of those filters not catching everything that a paper oem type filter would and damaging the engine

nothing might ever happen, but depending on who you ask it’s a gamble

    *sigh*
And this tube exacerbates the problem? And yes, I spend time south of the border on dirt.

Not at all, they have nothing to do with each other.

I only mentioned that because I wanted an intake pipe that didn’t come with a drop in filter.

That's $10 bucks well spent. It is just cleaner than the OEM below. Might gain you 0.05 HP with a smoother (less turbulent inside diameter).
