Just retested on a meter and it does in fact switch on/off. Why is it when I connected the wires @ZColorado was saying, and connected the negative terminal back onto the battery, the truck tried to crank with no depressing of the start/stop button?

I did not catch that point earlier, I see why @ZColorado thinks the relay thing is bad.

    Thoughts:
I did hear there are two relay things to try? Is that correct?
    Can they be inserted backwards?

I was under the impression that both of these relays were the same. One is a reverse relay. They can only be inserted one way.

They are different with that one smaller pin occurring at a different place. Perhaps try the other.

I remember a thread from someone who had issues with the 4122. He used the 2nd relay in the kit and it worked.

Just attempted the other relay. Didn't work with the AOB switch.

Oddly enough, I tried the switch provided by 41.22, and that didn't work either (with the reverse relay). I am a bit unfamiliar with how reverse relays work. Should this have operated like normal? Is it essentially flipping the direction that the switch needs to be activated?

Get this working with the 41.22 switch first. If that does not work then you can simplify the solution.

There is no such thing as a reverse relay, you can wire a NO (normally open) or NC (Normally closed) contact but there is no reverse. You can use a positive voltage signal to provide a ground signal with a relay, which is probably what a "reverse relay" implies.

This whole contraption of wires is simply being used to connect one wire to ground so dont let this become too confusing. It's literally just taking a wire and touching ground to run, or disconnecting it to not.

I still think you have a problem with the 41.22 relay.

    Update:

Triple checked and rewired everything, adjusted the pins a tad on the relay, quadruple checked the ground, sanded some of the area down where the ground sits, and now it’s all miraculously working (with the AOB switch).

I want to thank all of you for the help. Can’t thank you all enough for the input and guidance to help a new guy out with minor electrical work.

I live in a dry area (CA), any issue with the sanded area being exposed under the hood?

Great News, I was very confused why it was not working before. Glad you got it figured out.

I would attach the ground to the battery or an existing fender bolt. Notice how one of the battery grounds just bolts to the fender? Otherwise if you have a bare metal ground I would paint over the exposed metal once you have the ground bolted down.

    Same. ^^
I think we forgot how important technique and attention to the little things are. Paying attention only to the major question at hand.
