    Well that escalated quickly:

    at about 4pm I decided to rotate the tires.

    - "while I'm here, I might as well check the brake pads"
    - "suppose I should check the brake shoes too"
    - "hmm, 2.5mm ... well I'll need new shoes eventually, may as well do it now"
    - "I guess I should bleed the lines while I'm at it"
    - "oh look, that fender liner is torn, might pull it out and order new ones"
    - "I'm going to need to do an alignment soon, better put some penetrating oil on those cam bolts, and see if they are seized"

    dinner at 1am ... I don't think I'll ever get my hands clean.
