I've done the Lift...as opposed to the Regear.

I have an Automatic Sport...which is geared for mostly street driving...daily driver...hence the OEM TRD 2" Lift.

My plan is to get new wheels/tires at 60K miles...current setup: 265/65R17, +30 offset and looking at 275/70R17, 0 offset.

If ever I need the 4X4, I'll engage it.

As a matter of fact, I do monthly checks/engage the 4H so it functions correctly when needed.

You've got an Off-Road and didn't mention if it was auto/manual.

I'm under the impression, if owner is upgrading to heavier tires & added weight to truck, you'll likely need a regear.

You'll suffer on MPGs so take losing miles per tankful into consideration.

Poorly worded on my part. Exact same up-travel limit with almost all lifts.

thank you for the response. I have an automatic 4x4. The gas mileage really does take a dump when I get to hills. I’ll be lucky to get 13 mpg when heading out to mammoth with all my gear

As long as you know, your gas mileage will take a dump! lol

Get that re-gear done by reputable shop and that they warranty their work.

And get the highest satisfactory rated product...to include customer support.

If you're spending that kind of money, it better have no issues!

Yeah except that it doesn't really do that? I can still get close to 20mpg going 55 on backroads.

On the highway trying to go 75+ is where the mpgs get hit, but that's because it's a lifted truck with big heavy tires and is about as aerodynamic as a brick. With 5.29s and 35s the effective gearing is only marginally lower than stock with stock tires.

    Mileage performance varies.

When I asked my local OTT tuner, he provided some of the answers I gave regarding regear.

I'm not going that route...adding weight to my truck chassis--only getting slightly bigger wheels/tires.

So, I'll be fine on the streets.

OP should report a difference in MPGs when all is said and done.
