BudBuilt Skids with a diff drop?

I have a very long line of products for my truck, but the first are to protect the undercarriage. I have Rancho shocks all the way around on stock coils in front, with a 1.5 inch spacer. However, down the road Im upgrading to probably billies on OME coils. I also would like to make my CV angles the smallest possible amount.Im considering a 3/4inch or 1inch diff drop. My question is will these Bud Built skids fit over the diff drop? I have tried calling Bud Built manufacture but no answer, same with the Emails. Looking for any advice, Thanks in advance.

 

I just did a search and according to other members a bud built skid will work even with a diff drop.

 

I know mjp2 had to have his bud built modified to work with the diff drop, but the pictures I saw were from a few years ago so they may have changed their design. If you pm mjp2 he might have some info for you. I would like to know the answer as well

They will not work with a diff-drop, I had to remove mine to install the skids! It will work with All-Pro & ATO

 

I recently called Budbuilt less than 3 months ago and asked if their skids will work with a standard diff drop of 1 inch and they said they will work with no problem.

I read that they will work fine with a diff drop on 1st gen, 2nd gens no.

Sweet, Thank you very much for the info! On the topic of skidplates, has anyone heard of tried out the Trail-Gear transfer case skid? It looks pretty awesome, and it would certainly do the trick. Im just wondering if anyone else that has a 1st gen thought about it.

The guy in the thread above didn't like the skid row tcase skid because it bent. Seems like he's running his truck pretty hard though, or likes making it into a see-saw.

FWIW I decided on skid row over budbuilt because the front skid is supposed to be sturdier (it has supports in the middle where the budbuilt does not) and I can buy them local for cheaper without shipping.

 

oh wow I did not know the trail gear one required the factory cross member to be cut out. The Skid Row skids look promising. Please let me know what you think of them, and I'd like to see some pictures once its mounted. Local is always best, I have a Trail Gear down the street. I plan on having trail gear bumpers and bolt on sliders, as I don't have a welder.

 

Bud told me the same thing not three weeks ago. I'll know for sure this weekend. That is, if I can get it mounted to the Elite bumper. Wouldn't fit on first try. The front lip is too long..., about ~.5"-.75" too long.

Just ordered the Skid Row plates. Should have them next week. I'll post up some pics off the truck and mounted up. I have a diff drop as well, so we'll see how that fits.

By the way, if anyone is looking to buy Skid Row skid plates check their dealer locator for a local one. I found a local Jeep shop that was able to special order them and save me on shipping, plus the skids were about $20 less each than Skid Row's online price.

The real question here is do you want to do business with a company that doesn't answer the phone or return e-mails?

I recommend ATO, customer service is second to none.

Oops I just saw you have a first gen. SAS that thing put some big tires and you won't have to worry about hitting anything.
