I drove the Tacoma up to my brother's farm in Brooklyn, MI on Thursday, to attend Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School's 50th, and final, class reunion, which will be held tonight. Last night we had an informal pre-reunion gathering, and I have to say the look of unfiltered joy and delight I saw on the faces of virtually all those who joined was so fulfilling; if tonight's main event is even half as much fun, it will be a smashing success!

That's on the north rim. Main park is south rim. Nice girl at the BLM info station in Kanab told me that the fire still isn't out.

Good afternoon. Watching the Baja 400 live coverage on Racer Network Channel. Also, on YouTube Score Channel.

    Yeah, that's why I asked.

We drove up to the Skyline Drive. The weather was looking kind of grumpy but we got no rain. Forty-three degrees at the top and seventy down in the valley.

Good morning. Up early today and put the pork shoulder on the smoker st 05:30. Hoping to have it off and resting by 12;00 noon so I can go into Annapolis with my wife. The smoker is set on 250° so I doubt it will be finished at noon. First time for me smoking a pork shoulder on a rotisserie.
Need to get my butt in gear to take a walk, fill the wifes car with gas, go to the gym, then on to the farmers market in our city. It will be a full morning.

I watched it also ,:awesome racing!!! , but i hate the speed control areas . Back in the early 1990's I went to the SCORE Baja 400 and was awesome watching the racing . The race started and finished in San Felipe went thru El Diablo dry lake and back up thru Zoo road

Found pic of my old 1968 M38A1 Jeep I had back in the early 1990's . it had alot of modifications and was built to handle very difficult trails. This pic is at the Corral canyon OHV park in the East County of San Diego

This little Hill looked easy to climb but alot of my 4wd club members didn't want to try !!! . I idled up this hill in low range and walked right up with no problems

Here is what was modified on my Jeep

Dana 44 axles with full floater kit in the rear dana 44 with Warn gold locking hubs and optional drive plate

GM 1 ton SM465 granny gear 4spd with 6. 54 ratio first gear

Dana 18 T/case with 3.50 low range ratio and had a Warn overdrive with 15 percent reduction in gearing

    5.38 gears in both axles

Overall low range gear ratio was 123.1 and was low enough to idle over obstacles

    Rancho 4" suspension

    GM power steering conversion

    Warn XD 9000 winch

    Dual fuel tanks

    33" TSL Super swampers

The engine was a Buick odd fire 225 cubic inch V6 with headers , Offenhauser 4bbl intake and holley 600cfm double pumper carb and had a MSD 6A ignition box

Great to read of your past Baja trip... I think you saw the San Felipe 250 race... The Baja 400 is only 6 years old and always started and ended in Ensenada. The other two Score Baja races are the long time running Baja 1000 (in November) and Baja 500 (in June). They both got their start in the late 1960s.
