I almost gave up doing this until I broke the stock light so had to commit on finishing. A 1hr to 2hr job eneded up being a half a day. Not worth it. Keep it stock.

I bought an OEM Pro grill and it just had the plastic insert rather than the TSS glass. Toyota wanted an arm and a leg for that insert so I decided to see what would happen if I ran it with out one. Just mounted the sensor without the glass. I had a few error codes periodically for the first week or so but it’s been running smooth ever since.

Paint the letters bronze and then add black letter decals to the center.

I bought an OEM Pro grill in all black (letters) and then bought an used aftermarket TSS garnish after I found the price of an OEM garnish, OEM is stupid expensive, from a forum member (thanks @lastcall190) for a great price, it is still working as intended...
Here is a link to the aftermarket garnish... I had thought about wrapping it or whatever is advised, but I don't feel like having to remove the camera and crap in order to R&R it... lol

New oem filters, (engine and cabin). No pictures, but they had more dust than a Dyson vacuum canister. o_O:tumbleweed:

So the ole Vacuum on the Oil fill trick is confirmed to work, and it 100% keeps the oil in the engine and you can remove the oil drain plug with no drain. It just gurgles around in the block lol, very cool trick. Need to 3D print a adapter for my shop vac, my fiancé was holding it this time.

Serviced the front, rear differential and and transfer case, Driver side outside tie rod end boot failed unfortunately, so that'll need replacement eventually. Steering rack is developing some play, can't rule out the tie rod end as the culprit but the steering wheel and shaft turns ever so slightly, before the end rods begin to move. Sucks too because this will be the 2nd rack I'll have replaced. Debating on doing a Tundra rack swap.

Unfortunately no pictures or videos of the vacuum trick but it definitely works, and it didn't spill a drop or suck anything into the vacuum hose.

    Here's a picture of my truck instead.PXL_20250628_143823527.PORTRAIT.ORIGINAL.jpg

But, but all the cool kids are doing it... And at least I didn't hack my wiring harness to install them, lol.

Sadly, the truck hasn't seen the light of day in two weeks. I still have time to work out all the little details. It'll be where i want it by Christmas, hopefully. I still need the LoMax tonneau and Greenlane front bumper.

yeah, it was a pain, and I knew it going into it. I waited till my brother had some time to help out. Two people make it a lot easier.

No need to remove it. I'll 'tint' it on the truck. I've got some material coming. I just want to dumb down the silvery bits.

Those hitch mounted carry baskets always scared me. Never heard of any failures, just seems a lot of weight on that one point. Beautiful area you are in.

Whelp, I took the plunge and ordered some new rims, TPMS sensors, and lug nuts. I really love these blue ones and think they'll look good on the truck.
