Was stupid hot today... But we got out for a bit and checked out some farmers markets. Is this what it's like to be old? The gf loves going to them lmao.

Also something funny a buddy in our bike chat of friends tagged me saying hey! That blue triumph you saw at ride now next to your t7 i bought it! They are giving you a 100 dollar gift card for referring me lmao. He got a beautiful triumph 660!

The angry harley riders that are sleeveless never wave, I don't even initiate anymore. Not sure why they are so angry but they can stay that way.

I've had scooters not wave back, but I think its because they arent watching for it.

So apparently the previous owner posted the bill of sale online 13 minutes before my buddy sat down to do the paperwork for the title and registration. Which has to do some verification in the system that takes a couple hours. The gal at the DOL gave him her card and said if he gets pulled over have the cop call her. But he should be fine with the bill of sale and title. Oh well.

The BBQ place "Mo-Chilli BBQ" was great. Would definitely stop in again. Had their brisket sandwich.

For my first serious ride, it was pretty awesome. We even hit some gravel. Which was super sketch for me, but great practice. Was about 5 miles of twisty switch backed forest road. So yeah, now I'm tired. Time to relax!

Gravel used to scare the shit out of me, it was my first chaperone ride, I even had dirt bike tires and it was still "loose"

Now I'm seasoned at it, I dont panic as much if I go into a turn too hot, I move the body and shift the weight. Sitting ahead on the seat helps a lot.

I'd even say that gravel roads are easily my favorite to ride. Beats mountains and trails for me.

Noticed right away too what you mentioned about the bars, pretty far forwards. Would probably feel really good standing though, will need a demo day sometime before I really think to pull the trigger.

Yaaa my buddy has some high rise bars and a slip on exhaust he said he would sell to me soooo might be buying stuff for it soon ish haha.

Yes standing with how the bars are set is honestly great! It's just sitting down where it's a tad annoying.

I've ridden a lot of gravel on ATVs and dirt bikes, was a first on this thing. I wish I had knobbies for it, lol. I got more confident as I went, the first mile I was TENSE. Was great to have done it, though. Only one way to learn.

Had to look it up. Was NE North Shore Road along Hood canal. Was definitely not on my planned route. Buddy's brother took the lead from Port Orchard as he knows the area. He said he remembered gravel, but thought it was a mile, not five. And he did it on a WR last time. Even for his experienced self, he said the r nineT was sketch.

My ADV bike I'm tempted to put gravel tires on, 300lbs vs 650lbs is a big difference. The previous owner did lots of "real" adving, but I like having a tall touring bike.

Did you guys drop pressures? If I run street pressure with my WR on gravel its DICEY. But 20psi or less its rally racing haha.

Holy guacamole! So HF's "No 42" is likely more closer to the newer Loctite 243? Not that it changes much for me, I have been using the HF "no 42" for over a decade cus im a cheap ass and its like 2/3rds the cost for 2X the product of the "Blue semi permanent". That stated the "no 42" does leave lots of excess crap when removing. I wonder what the other is like.... MAYBE ill pony up for the expensive fancy stuff? naw.

Yup, cb500x. I've been contemplating upgrading to something bigger, but after today I really think it'll be plenty for at least a few years. Was worried it might not keep up well, but I had zero issue today riding with the 1200 and 1250. Not crazy quick, but I hit 80 a couple times with no issues. And 70 on freeway was cake. And I averaged over 75 miles per gallon. 300 miles prolly cost me 15 bux!

We didn't air down. And like I said, he thought it was a mile lol. I doubt I'll do any adv riding since my wife has the Rebel 1100 DCT. She's not looking to ride anywhere but pavement. I think my oem tire is like a 90/10 tire. I could see maybe getting a 80/20 next time, but who knows.

9/11 Memorial along the PCH at Pepperdine today. This view hit so much harder this year vs years past given recent events and happenings of this past week in my personal life. The ride to and from Pepperdine (round trip 70ish miles) I have never seen more USA flags being flown on cars and places here in SoCal.

To say I was overwhelmed with emotions when I got to where this pic was taken was an understatement. When I parked it all came to a head, had to take 30 min or so to walk things off and collect my thoughts before continuing on my way.

If you have a spouse and kids, hug them tight. Hug them unbelievably tight and cherish their love. If its just you; find a friend, family, parents, neighbor that can give you a hug or you can give a hug to, to spread the love.

The world needs that right now.

I'm planning on doing the NorCal BDR this week. with some friends and my 8000 mile Trailmax Missions are looking pretty worn. I did a few miles of gravel and sandy fire roads/two track and it was pretty sketchy. Ended up buying some Shinko 804/805 tires, which are a step up from the Trailmax Missions (Trailmax are 80/20 on road/off road, Shinkos are more like 40/60 onr oad/off road). Best part is they were under $300 for both tires!

Unfortunately the shop only had the front tire, so I'll have to go back on Tuesday to get the rear tire (hopefully they get it in when they said they would!).
