Reading your opponent, getting psyched by the fake jab or side step, while still managing to throw the right jab or hook or trying to even get a combo in

 

I've met some very skilled (intelligent) fighters and lots of those guys trained like crazy

 

it definitely requires the right headspace for that

on the other hand i see people who dont actually fight getting into a fight:

step 1: forget everything
step 2: throw haymakers repeatedly

 

Throwing a punch and not landing, or throwing a punch with no weight behind it

Those are the two most common things I've witnessed firsthand

 

I just run.

 

what’s that one famous boxing quote, everyone has well thought out plan until they get punched in the face lol

 

I felt bad about the one fistfight I got in, I don’t think I’m going to do that again.

 

It’s enough of a fight mentality and physical to wake up every morning for work, last thing I want to do is get into a fist fight.
