20 years ago right now, I was across the pond. I have been reminiscing the good and bad while in country. That said (talking out of my left ear), live life the best you can through the thick and thin of it.

Thanks for the advice! I'll start them at factory PSI and go from there and see how they ride compared to the Trailmax Missions.

 

My offroad PSI on the F800GS is typically 25, with street pressures about 36f/38r. I have trailmax missions front and rear right now, not the shinkos, so obviously ymmv. When i'm too low on pressure I'll feel my steering getting really slugging and unresponsive, especially medium 15-40mph ish speeds. It'll just start feeling wrong. I'd start high and drop a couple PSI at a time until you start to feel the difference in steering and feel, then go back up a couple PSI.

My Trailmax Missions are cupping pretty badly, especially the front tire. Not super happy with them as I only got 8k miles out of them. I could probably get another 1-2k out of them on asphalt but at this point I’m not going to bother. The Shinkos are so much cheaper.

I have a 5 hour ride before starting the BDR so I’ll definitely start high and drop the pressure as I get to the off-road bits.

 

I should probably pay closer attention to my tire pressure but it's usually 50 in the mornings and 80 in the afternoons here. It'll probably change a bit during the day anyways.

 

8,000 is great tire life, in my opinion, especially for a 70/30. I'd be shocked if the 804/805 go beyond 4,000 or 5,000 miles, especially so if they see lots of high speed pavement. But at half the cost you can get half the mileage and still come out OK haha

Oh, absolutely! I go all over the place (sometimes even where I'm not supposed to!) and have occasionally gotten the "creepy" vibes. Not sure about ghosts, but I've seen a few things that defied rational explanation...

My rear Shinko 705 only lasted 3,500 miles on my low powered, low weight DRZ. Wish they could make moto tires that lasted even half as long as a car tire.

Looking at getting a dedicated tire changer 'cause I really effed up my rim changing that last one. Was so pissed (and disgustingly sweaty) that I kind of Hulk'ed out and, while I finally got the tire off, I put some serious scratches on my rim...
