Got my Flowmaster 10 installed. So much better than the 50 "American Thunder".

Does the sound get quieter with the lower numbers? Is the 40 quieter than the 50...etc.

    Nice truck(s) BTW!

It actually gets louder in general as the numbers get lower, as this 10 series is kinda loud but has a nice growl to it but my 50 was more/less pretty quiet for me. Thanks John, same to ya!

How's the noise in the cab? I've run a bunch of big blocks (gm, pontiac) with headers and American Thunder duals, kinda loud, but a nice throaty roar. Once you get the BB's over 5500-6000r's, they really scream, and I find that to be quite stimulating.:) There's nothing like 500-600hp screaming "LET ME OUT"!!!:D

I still don't know which way to go with my v6. I've looked at headers and "systems", but cost per hp gain doesn't look to be the big bang for the buck you get with a v8.:notsure: My main purpose for an altered exhaust would be to gain a little mileage. That, and a snorkle, may be the way to go.

What I think is you did a great job. It really looks good. I don't think I could devote enough time to get the results you did. Congratulations !

It's a little loud in the cab in 1st and 2nd gear, but anything over 45 is definitely stock-like (IMO) and not much noise/drone at all. I'd love to have a big block with a true dual system... In the end, I'd much rather have went with the Flowmaster 10 to begin with and not spend the money on the catback system. Only pro to having the catback before having the flowmaster 10 put in would be the 2.5" piping. Not sure how the muffler would sound on 2.25" pipe (although there is a negligible difference in dia). Anyways, the 10 is the way to go IMO. I'll see if I can get a sound clip or two up later tonight.

Gotta love a big block. I had a '70 1/2 Trans Am. 640hp at the back tires on a rolling dyno. I lived in Winchester back then. ('85-'87) I was on the crew building the high school sports complex at Winchester High. I raced a t Summit Point in the Vintage cars. I also took a trooper in a Mustang on rte 37. I pinned a 170 speedo. Brought the car home and sold it. I also had an '88 Blazer on 38's with 560hp. At 6995lbs, it ran the quarter in 12.4 at 104mph. That was top ending 2nd (3rd) gear at 6600r's.

    I got speed issues!
