I just used the centric rings, it holds it in pretty snug too.

Check your bulb/bulb seating. Your hotspot on the projector is off. The hotspot (center of your light output) should be at the center of the cutoff step. It's very common for the bulb seating to be off on either the bulb or the projector with these morimotos because they're manufactured overseas.

This is what it's suppose to look like:

Kinda confused about the "hotspot" and where it is supposed to be. Yours and the one below look nothing alike IMO...

Yeah, I think you got it. Can't rally tell by the pic because the door and gutter brake the light in a weird way but I lf you find a flat wall you should be able to tell.

You're welcome. Feel free to PM me if you or anybody has any questions. I've been playing with HID projectors and collecting them for a few years. From my experience, the Morimotos are great for quick and easy retrofits, especially first timers. For anybody else that's mechanically inclined, I'd recomend OEM projectors from other cars.

Wanted to thank the OP again for setting this up!!
Here is a little of what i have been working on, I wanted to use the CCFL but thought they were just a little too much overkill so i ended up using 8 bright white LEDs instead, I love how it turned out.

Hey guys I'm about to start installing the HID's i got but I had a few questions that someone might know that got the same kit as i did. I picked up the FX-r kit not the mini and read that we might need to trim off some of the reflector housing if so how much and where. Is the mounting of these fairly easy or do we need to make those brackets that I saw in the video?

Yeah, still have alignment issues. WTF....

I suppose this amount of fine tuning can be expected when "retrofitting" a stock system. That, and the fact that I'm anal retentive.

Finding that it's pretty much impossible to work on the lights when they are installed in the truck. Going to take them off again tomorrow and make sure that everything is seated correctly.

Right hand side cutoff is great - no problems. Driver's side is not as sharp, and is projecting at a slightly crooked angle.

Overall, super happy. Haven't gotten flashed. Counted 15 "drop in" kits while out driving today. Do it right.

so does this reduce the "blinding" effect that drop in hids cause?
