The Husky universal flaps are shown as discontinued, but you can do the same with bulk sheet plastic/rubber.

The Tacoma cab mount has two holes that can accept the well nut (vs. one on the 4R). Use the rear hole for more clearance.

Gotcha. I'll probably run the stock ones for the winter if someone has them kicking around, and maybe try and make these in the summer.

Mine aren't nice. I also gotta get the truck ready for a safety (lease buyout long story tax write-off), so I don't need the shop doing it being a prick about mud flaps. Already gotta reinstall my swaybar for it :bananadead:

    Bent/cracked skid plate.
I know I need to fix it, but it would still hold up to some, erhm, 'light off road use' - right ?

As long as there is atleast 1 to 2 bolts holding it, that bend/ crack is nothing lol
I nearly folded my RCI cross memeber in half and it stayed on the truck for a month

Sigh. Harsh. But yes, fair, I guess I'll have to fix it.
I just didn't want to crawl under the truck again after wrestling with the sliders install the last days.
Did you weld in a reinforcement bar or was that just to keep it straight while welding?

I don't know if this is a thing when it comes to skid plates but you can drill a small hole at the end of that crack to keep it from getting any larger if you not planning on welding it up any time soon

a bend like yours, you dont need to worry until the next time you had to take the plate off.
    worst case: it bends
best case: you forget and it's like that for a few years lol

My RCI steel plates will literally not fit on any other truck, that's how far out of square they are.
this is what it looked like back in 2021. It's still like that today

remeber, skid plates are sacrificial items, if they break it means something else didnt

have done that to plastics for years. gives it a larger area to flex around and prevents cracking.

everything flexible from body panels to laundry baskets - proper life lesson

Cut NS and make it a separate trip.
Amanda and i did almost exactly what your planning the first time we came out and it was WAY too much driving.

    currently mid PEI trip
    Changed a wheel bearing yesterday

    IMG_3035.jpg

*edit* the reason i say cut NS is because you can easily spend a week on cape Breton

Gotcha. I actually ended up sorta doing that myself- basically cut Quebec (outside of transit) and PEI, got friends in NS so wanted to stop there.
