Anybody have recommendations for good dispersed camp sites within say an hour or so of Silverton? Going down there to ride the train and maybe hit a trail or two. Gonna camp for a couple nights, wondering if anybody has some intel for me?

Also, any food and drink suggestions for Telluride are welcome.

Feel free to private message me if you don't wanna post your spot publicly -Thanks

This is a nice, free, campground about 30 minutes from town.

There’s probably closer spots but when I visit the San Juan’s I like to dispersed camp on the forest service road behind purgatory resort. About 49 min from silverton. Check out hermosa park road. Lots of spots back up there.
