Bed damage alternatives

Long story short, I let a buddy use my truck to pull out a Powerjoke out and he hooked a chain to my bumper, needless to say he f'd up my bumper pulling out the 10k lbs. truck but did get it out..

I don't want to buy a new bed (I know its creased).. what can I do to fix this?? Maybe some bondo to patch it up, then paint over it?? Thanks for the input.

 

Cut it out and weld in some ne sheet metal don't bondo that up like that. You can go to a junk yard and cut it off another truck.

 

Sheet metal?? How would that look? I just figured bondo would be quick and easy for college kid with limited tools at school

 

Take it to the body shop and hand your buddy the bill.

 

x2, go to a junk yard and cut a patch pannel off another truck, then cut the same shape out of yours and weld in the new piece. The less bondo the better

Cut bedsides off and build a high clearance bumper.

 

I'd love to if I wasn't 200 miles from home haha.. Finding clean Taco's in junkyards that aren't already torn apart in Cleveland, Ohio is like finding gold.. I think torching apart a used bed would be out of the question. Is bondo that bad? I mean it's a ten year old truck that I just put 75k miles on in a little over a year, I'm not too worried for it to be beautiful anymore, haha.

 

Bondo should be a thin film just to even out the surface not to fill dents if you can beat out the panel and get it straight again more power to you be I think from personal experience a patch a panel would be the best way to do it.

You are brave to let your buddy take your truck to pull someone out. I hardly let anyone I trust drive my truck on the street when Im not riding with them. But your best bet is try beating it out some what, a patch panel or the body shop.

 

I am agreeing with everybody else. He fucked up the truck doing something stupid...he foots the bill.
