Do you have something else to drive? (I guess the sentra, about that...)

I would give yourself at least 2 full days to do coilovers if you're relying on driving the truck just in case.

2 full days for coilovers ? I hear your warning, but have to ask what are you smoking? Hell, I might have one side pulled off by the time you get here tomorrow. The only thing that stopped me from working on them this weekend was that I was working on the Satoshi's all weekend.

Need to get them on and a new alignment before I sport your tires. :D

They are preassembled. Won't take but an hour or two to fully install them, drive down the street, get an alignment. done. If I didn't have church sunday I woulda said I'd help him put them on then.

Well, I've done it, for one. :p

It may only take a few hours, and if so, that's great. It's just installs always take longer than you think, and then longer than you want it to. If you allow for extra time, you won't be frantically adjusting your coilovers at 3am before you had to drive back to Huntsville from St Louis the next day, like I was!

    Just some friendly advice!

I mean, Paul, I get it... And granted, I was doing full suspension (new leaf pack, new rear shocks, new UCAs, and new coilovers.)

I'm not saying it'll take 2 days, I'm just saying having to work late into the night because something isn't fitting in right is miserable, and it's nice to give yourself plenty of time. *shrug*

i agree with the two days about installing everything. But front end w/ two to three people (who have done it before) and pre assembled struts is easy work. I couldn't get my rear aal the first two times I did mine. Drove around bro-leaning for a week. had to buy some monster stickers to justify it.

Geeze, no need to get defensive. someone put their girlfriends underwear on by accident this morning :D

Those are words of wisdom to be followed. The single time there is a deadline, you will have problems. I have changed out the CV Boot on a Honda Prelude at 3 am with a trip to Florida scheduled at 5am. Had to drive the car up the sidewalk so I could get closer to the porch light to see.

But, with no deadline, (queue peaceful background music) I always find I work much better late on a cool summer night. There is a peace and tranquility that falls over me. Life is simple, just a man, a wrench, and a car. But I degress....

Hehe don't know what took over me ^

You sir work very slowly! Me and will! (YES!! ME AND WILL!) Took about 2.5 hours to do my entire front and rear suspension spacer and AAL lift.. It took us literally an hour to do the front driver side (pull wheel, pull the coil-over, compress spring, insert spacer, reassemble, and put it all back on), after the first one we did the passenger side in 30mins flat and then the entire rear took 30mins total! I worked on one side while will was on the other! SIMPLE!!!

And yeah, not saying it can't be done, just saying: give yourself time. Mhm.

And Kyle: You clearly didn't do UCAs. Getting that bolt out intact was the hardest part, hands down.

    Yes, have help. :)

The UCAs are cake except for removing the original bolts, if you have to keep them. Some guys cut them off for this reason.

Your UCA-to-Frame bolt is about a foot long (Kyle's is 3") and it has to come out toward the front of the truck on both sides; there isn't any room for it to come out. You have to bend back your wheel well (inside the engine bay may get a little scratched, mine did).

We put it back in the opposite way (head of the bolt toward the back of the truck) because it is way easier.

Other than that it's relatively smooth sailing.

I mean, it's your choice. We were doing it on top of all the other crap I was doing to my truck, so it might have made it seem harder than it really was.

You can certainly do the swap in an afternoon, it's just a lot of swearing and cursing to get that bolt out. Having 2-3 guys to help is nice, because someone can pry the wheel well back, somebody can tap at it with a hammer and screwdriver, and somebody can be in the engine bay trying to see it / guide it out.
