I'm wanting a single 10" woofer. Mostly listen to different types of rock music. I'm looking specifically at the Arc Audio ARC10D4. It can be had $60 cheaper than an IDQ... I'm wanting the best SQ for my buck, and those 2 seem to get the best reviews for under $250 (IDQ is $239, and Arc is $179 at woofersetc).

I'm leaning towards the Arc right now. Anything else I should look at in that price range? Any experience with that particular sub?

I'm planning on the ID CTX65CS for the front.

Being from AL you sould be able to hunt down a Sundown Audio dealer. IF they still have the SD1v2 in stock they cannot be beat for the money. When they were discontinued they were going for $110 if I remember right. If you local dealer doesnt have any, I do have 4 in stock that I could forward to them. The SD1v2 would fit in the Taco perfectly but requires slightly more airspace than an IDQ at .5 stuffed with polyfill up to .9 on the big side. (.7 as being optimal) there was a head to head review of it against the IDQ and it was basically a tie. Too bad they were discontinued because they are fantastic drivers. I am personally a fanatic when it comes to audio and the IDQ, SD1 or JLw6, Morel, Focal or Dynaudio are the few drivers I would personally run.

I checked the website, and there aren't any dealers close to me. Closest one is at Eglin AFB (which is 2 hours away). the one online dealer I saw selling them had them at $229.

I did get the ok to ship the last 4 remaining subs that I have in stock. I misquoted the price which was actually $150 during the blow out. I will honor the $110 per driver since I was the one who made the mistake. I would only ask that you write a review on the Sundown product if you make the purchase. :)

The believe the Arc is essentially a rebadged IDQ.

The older Arc subs were made by ID but that relationship has ended to my knowledge.

That was one of those things passed around forums a while back since ID made the ARC's but they are in fact 2 different subs with the basket being the main thing it appears they share. :)

No need to bow! There was a huge debate over this on ECA a while back and of course my inquisitive mind just compared specs on both subs which determined they were definitely different in many ways (also verified by Matt at ID). :)
