    I say go for it. There's nothing to lose, if you don't like it just peel it off. I've had my grille and the chrome strip on my front bumper plastidipped for a few weeks now and it is still holding up just fine.

    hey man, how did you do your flares? I was looking to do mine but it looks like to do them right you'd have to remove them and paint them while they are off the truck.

    So i had access to a wacom cintiq tablet, and did my best to get the rims looking good, i borrowed a picture of the stock tacoma OR rims that were already Plasti-dipped black, and added the red accents that i think would look awesome... I used photoshop and make a red sample of the plasti-dip and copied the color from another picture...

    Let me know what you think!

    (btw, i cant afford to paint or powdercoat yet, so this is going to be a cheap alternative, please dont tell me otherwise, just looking for opinions on the scheme)

    I know there is a bunch of DIY plasti dip threads, and even painting the engine cover. But I hadn't seen anyone do this yet, so I'll just post it..

    So, same procedure as doing the badges, so I wasn't super detailed because I'm pretty sure everyone knows how with all these Plasti Dip threads. But anyways, this is the procedure I used if my directions aren't good enough.

    Supplies:
    Plasti Dip of your color choice(I did red)
    Masking Tape
    Newspaper
    10mm Socket Wrench
    Time/Patience

    Step 1: Remove cover, takes two 10mm sockets on front then pull off the back.

    Step 2: Mask off (Then do a light, base coat)

    Step 3: After a few minutes, do thicker coat
    [​IMG]

    Step 4: Waited 15 minutes, did a thicker coat and I let it dry for 45 minutes..it dried quicker than usual

    Step 5: Peel off tape and stuff

    Step 6: Peel off excess plasti dip, inside and out

    Nope, the emblem is raised and so the paint rips apart off the emblem at the ridge. Some parts peeled better than others, so I had to clean it up a bit with an X-Acto Knife
