I was driving to work this morning and passed a nice 7th gen Hilux.

I need to do something with my badges, paint them, replace them, but something none the less.

So, my question to you, if you saw me driving down the I-10 in my 98 Limited Tacoma with "Hilux" badges, would you...

Give me the Tacoma wave, thinking that you want to do that to your truck
    -or-
Shake your head in disgust and feel sorry for my truck that I had done that to her
    -or-
F* It, you wouldn't care either way.

Lol I've actually been thinking about doing this. Everyone (including me) calls my truck the hilux.

But if I were to do this I would say don't go overboard, keep it subtle. I was thing about only getting badges for the doors for instance. Good luck dude!

    Why? :notsure:
It's a Tacoma, not a Hilux. To each his own, it's your truck, I just don't understand the purpose of putting the wrong badges on it.

It's only a Tacoma in the US and Canada.... it's a Hilux in the rest of the world.

If I had a 4runner I would definitely put the "Hilux Surf" badges on it.

Hilux's do have a diesel engine though.

I suppose... I mean except the styling and the available engines, they're practically the same truck :D
    Like the same, only different...

Your truck, I think it's a different idea and I don't think it'll look bad, just not for everyone.

    A few bolts are different.
I would not put Hilux Badges on a Tacoma.

It only has a different styled body, an optional diesel engine, manual transfer case and a fully boxed frame. Same thing though. You should probably go one step further and put chevy or ford badges on too.

I rode one for a whole week while I was on a surf trip in Nicaragua... feels a lot like the 2nd gen Tacoma, but they are not the same at all...

It's like putting Cobra emblems on a V6 Mustang.... I shake my head in disgust. They are not the same truck.

From what? I'm sensing you're going to make the A-Typical homosexual "Closet" joke here.

    Ha ha.

Truly your humour is fresh and witty and not at all previous millennium at all.

    Neg rep sent.

Uh, no. I was referring to people laughing openly at YOU, rather than you laughing openly at THEM. No homo reference this time, sorry.
