    Hey everyone, I currently have an 04 Titan and am looking at getting a Tacoma. Currently looking at Crew Cab, 4x4, base V6 with 6 speed manual. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the manual transmission, pros, cons, etc. Thx!!

    I'll be going with the manual 6 speed for sure. I guess the Tacoma doesn't have a locking tailgate, is there a good tonneau cover that you could recommend that would cover the top of the tailgate when closed so there wouldn't be a need for a tailgate lock? I'm looking for a single lock cover, instead of one that has two (one on each corner).

    Welcome to TW. I had a 6speed and now i have an auto both 2006. the 6speed was funner to drive but the auto is just nice when your in traffic. I prefer to drive a auto as a daily driver. they are both good trucks its just a matter of preference.

    Thanks man. I've had nothing but auto's for years, and am missing having 100% control over when to shift. Sometimes on my current truck I go to pass and the trans shifts too low and the rpm's are through the roof with no power, pisses me off. It also has the auto lag instead of the instant shifts a manual provides. Just my preference.
