Kings certainly made it interesting. Impressive play considering they didn't have their biggest point scorer.

In any case I'm stoked the Sharks advanced and can't wait to watch them in the Semi's.

I'm just a bit frustrated 3 of Sharks wins came in OT. I mean, that's not a sign of really winning a series, its a sign of squeezing by, in my honest opinion. Not to take anything away from your win. It just makes the losses so much more painful.

He's lucky, could have been worse than Manny. How is he anyway?

The most definitely did! I would love to knock out the hawks, but Detroit would be great too:D

    Yep!

Ugh the Pens last night.....I'm losing faith in them for game 7. They just can't get any decent scoring chances. And the ones they get (Talbot, Conner) look like someone who has no idea what to do with the puck. I'd hate to say it, but I'm pretty disopointed in Staal. I thought he would step it up with Sid and Malkin out, but I think that was his first goal last night and he's not a stud on faceoffs anymore. I'm sure everyone is going to lay blame on Fleury as usual but I think he's been pretty solid. I'll be happy when this season is over.

I wish I could stay up for the west coast games. That's some good hockey out there, unlike the crap that the Bolts/Pens are giving us.

Cool. I'd rather see Vancouver win.

    Nope Canucks will win.

    Yeah that was close.

    Yeeup.

You're right it is frustrating that they did it in OT, but I disagree that it's not really "winning a series". Niemi is not doing well it's something I'm sure a lot of people, Sharks fans included, can agree on, however, being able to push back and score goals when it's needed is what makes it happen. Being able to change the momentum from one shift to the next when it's needed.

Exactly.. i agree with getting rid of the grabbing and holding because it opens the game up and its a faster pace now

but getting rid of the hitting is bull shit... back in the 90's that torres hit woulda be praised and made the sports center top 10 but now its awful???

go on youtube and look at the scott stevens sports center top 10 hits... quite a few of them remind me of the Torres hit

Yeah the pens are really starting to worry me too... but there isnt a team in the NHL that woulda done as well as the pens have done with the players they were missing... so i'm not gonna be heart broken if they dont go all the way

do you think the hawks woulda gone anywhere missing Toews, Hossa, and Kane?? abso-fucking-lutely not

If they want to protect the players at the speeds they now travel , they need to relax the interference rules a bit .

I'm not talking about the full on clutch and grab days of the late 80's , but if a defenseman's partner could run a bit of a pick to angle off the forecheckers we would see less of the annihilation hits as the defensemen come out from behind the net , or are retreiving a dump in from the corner .

The way the games ran in the late 90's and early 2000's was close to what you mentioned

but i dont really want them to change it... who doesn't love big hits

I agree as well...Players today are way bigger and faster than those of the 80's and 90's. Same with the NFL. People pay big bucks to see the big plays and big hits. You take that away you will turn off fans. If they are really concerned about concussions and injuries they should consider making the rinks olympic size. It'll never happen, but it opens the game up a lot.

3rd worst penalty shot/shootout attempt of the yr. Only Stamkos and Kovalchuk did better than Connner. The Pens couldn't buy goals if they could at this point.
