quick tips!

so im new to the audio world and looking at getting a 10' this weekend.

can i get some quick tips on what to look for? ie, watts, brand, ect.

im currently looking at: (or somthing a little cheaper)
JL Audio 10W6v2-D4

what does the "10W6v2-D4" mean?

and from what im reading on amps you dont have to be as picky as long as they are putting out enough power / wattage?

The 10w6 is a great sub, but too deep to put behind your seat. The w3 is about as deep as you will find.

To break down their lingo:
10W6v2-D4
10 = diameter
w6 = model
v2 = version 2
D4 = Dual 4 ohm voice coils.

You would be able to wire a single sub to 2 ohms, or 8 ohm final load with that sub, so you would buy an amp that put out the power you want at 8 or 2 ohm loads.
