    Rant:
I have spent the past 2 months scouring the web to find some information, but I always come up empty-handed.
    WHERE IS THE NEW TACOMA?!

I want to pull the trigger on a Tacoma 4x4 but I hesitate because of (unfounded as they may be) rumors of a new 2012 redesign. THERE IS NO NEWS on the 2012...no spy photos, no real data, NOTHING
Two things are keeping me from going out right now and buying a new truck.

    1. I want to see SOMETHING - what is this new 2012 truck going to look like? There is NOTHING online (the white truck clad in black panels all over the net claiming to be a Tacoma is likely a Ford or Nissan).

    2. I read a Hybrid Tacoma is in the works, which sounds like an awful idea. I'm holding out on the slightest hope that this new redesign will also introduce a Diesel to the USA (I know this issue has been beaten to death but how hard-headed do these people need to be?!).
With gas prices as they are (and continue to climb), I find it mind boggling that Toyota, with all it's diesel use worldwide, won't offer the option to us. Bastards.
BMW, Mercedes and VW have all introduced Diesel in mass to the USA recently. There is no excuse now for Toyota.

I'm losing my patience and feelings of loyalty...I have owned a new Tacoma, a new FJ Cruiser and 2 older 4Runners, but if I don't see a redesign spy photo or news soon about any one of the two issues above, I'm going to another manufacturer for my next truck.

    Rant Over.

    Yes.
    Well, welcome...

The new Tacoma may be even more delayed due to the disaster in Japan.

some of this, a little of that

Stop waiting just buy the truck and enjoy it. If you keep waiting there will always be rumors that the next year model will have diesel or be a hybrid or a redisign or make your teeth whiter and your junk bigger.

confused on why waiting would make you switch companys?
if your tired of waiting and you love toyota just get the 2011 if they change it and you want the 2012 you can just go trade it in.

but i love my 2011, and even if they re-do it i will keep mine, most of the time the next model has issues for several years anyways.

I want to tell this gentleman to get a grip.
But I will take the proper approach here.

    Dear sir,
As you can see this site is full of those who love their toyotas.

We don't get to many that complain. And those that do, well, it is usually a minor detail and the issues get solved here.

What does that mean in the crux of your dilemma?

Not much, because as you ponder and waffle, prices are going up, and WE are all having fun and enjoying OUR TOYS!

    Hurry up and join us!

Did he mention gas prices in his mention of a need for a diesel? They aren't giving diesel away where I live...

    Tough crowd!
    Mad? Not really.
Just got my panties in a twist a little about the lack of info on the new Taco. I'm sure a 9.0 and tsunami didn't help.
Really I'm just ready to buy and don't want to learn a week after I do that a darn Diesel is finally coming. Lol.

Same here in Los Angeles, but.... assuming the Diesel gets better mpg, I'd be willing to wait. Not to mention, the torque benefits, hellooooo... :D

Well, the good thing is that Tacomas hold their value really well. So if you buy a preowned, when the new model comes out you can trade it in and not really be out much in the way of expenditure. Plus, you get to drive a Tacoma for XX months.

If they don't release a diesel (which is likely) then you didn't waste any time waiting for one.

So buy a preowned; pocket the extra money; invest it/put it in savings; buy a new one in 201? and be no worse for wear.

Haha, no problem, a little prodding comes with the newbie turf :)
Been lurking here for a while but finally chimed in as I'm reaching that time of the month and lack of Taco info is making me pissy...no, I'm not a gurl, so please don't flirt with me :D

OMG my history of buying/selling cars is so bad if my wife saw what you just wrote she'd ban me from this site, lol! but yes...the thought of buying preowned to hold me over definitely crossed my brainz.
