Icon Coilovers, Downsouth UCAs, rear Icon "2.5" shocks and Toytec single AAL. Still gotta do exhaust, dark headlights and re-gear the rear diff.
First, i havent yet found the factory installed rear diff ratio for the '08 TRD Sport (auto tranny/4x2) tacoma. Can someone tell me what it is please?

Also, Ive seen mention in a search about 4:56 and 4:88....if these numbers are correct - from my memory, are they the standard Tacoma re-gear choices?
And, are there any other choices that are *numerically lower* than the 4:56?

The reason for my questions boils down to this:
Whats the "best" re-gear choice for my street driven '08 TRD sport (Auto tranny; 4x2 LSD diff) with 285/65/18 TRAIL Grapplers?

    Thanks!

3.73 is the OEM ratio. those are the standard regear ratios. aftermarket you get 4.56. 4.88, or 5.29. older gen OEM gears come in 3.91, 4.10, and 4.30.

i personally am going w/ 4.10s for my 33" TG street rig. i picked up a used pumpkin from a 1st gen taco. im just fine and gettign 18.5 mpgs w/ the oem 3.73 gears, 33" TGs and 5" lift. the 4.10 will get my speedo pretty much right on and increase my rpms by 250 or so, therefore getting me back into the OEM powerband.

So rare thats how I got my 4.56 :) but ya it is true, very very hard to come by. I actually think someone on TTORA had that 4.44 or whatevery mystery gear ratio for sale not to long ago.
